The world would be a better place with more Troys in it. Exactly what the sport of Volleyball needs he has taken my volleyball nerd/fandom from a 100% to 200% (Try to watch it all to I CANNOT MISS THIS). Can't wait for TheRightSiiide to kick off again and loving the momentum the sport is trying to pick up. The taking away from Live and streaming at all seemed very odd and frustrating this past weekend but I am happy that AVP is getting TV money and will try to give them the benefit of the doubt. As always thanks for the hard work and hopefully we as fans can do the little things such as comment and interact on posts that will benefit the sport going forward.
Dang, if I'd known I could get a discount from Troy Field on my tix!! haha We even traveled from Utah to watch the finals wknd. So happy Troy got into the league, I was rooting for him!! Finding the right ticket price is likely key. I was fine paying $20/ticket per day to do my part to support AVP but when it started at $50 per day it was not going to happen along with travel costs. Glad you guys got comped for the meet and greets. Those looked awesome so I hope they continue next season. The vibe is different to be sitting in stands rather than wandering around floating all day between the beach and games but still a cool setting. People love watching beach volleyball but so many just do it for the olympics not realizing how accessible it is. How did CBS fair putting it on TV? Is that likely to happen again if there's a next year?
Troy hopping around the court on that little rubber pony with fans at Chicago after he just lost in the semis cemented him as one of my favorite players lol
I was a player in high school, d3 college, and a little bit beyond starting in the mid 80s. During that time, the AVP had a major TV contract, serious prize Money, serious sponsorship, and cultural relevance. I’m not sure exactly what happened, but it feels like the AVP has never been less followed. TV money is usually the engine that drives a sport and beach is on Bally.
I want to like this podcast so bad but it seems like whenever I listen to it, they bring up how AMAZING of a guy Taylor Crabb is- The guy that was banned from attending girls' volleyball events. If Taylor WASN'T drinking with minors and WASN'T romantically involved with a minor while in his mid-twenties, his camp has done a REALLY bad job of denying it with anything concrete.
Tri is right! You have to come together the players and get sponsors! Watch the 1967 movie the Dirty Dozen or Kelly's Heroes. A bunch of guys have to unite to get the GOLD. Just beware once you watch those movies you will be setting 50/50 and no blocking and big court will be all you want to play on.
Travis, will you do a roster shuffle episode? Swiss women for example is crazy, Brunner and Böbner retired, the Verge-Depre sisters are playing together, Mäder and Hüberli are without partners....
@@umrobe62 wel she's taking a break and wants to have a family, she's married to a hockey player.... Maybe she will come back in a few years but she doesn't know right now.
It is amazing Troy’s journey into the social media. We all can contribute that’s right. We @SR1Volleyball try to do our part at a small scale but any little help the sport. Keep up the good work guys and thank you for all your hard work to make it fun and enjoyable
Troy giving back and trying to grow the sport is totally what is needed
Agreed, Casey Patterson 2.0
Troy is so cool, he really made the san diego league stop so entertaining and personal, even got a signed hat from him.
Love to hear stories like those

haha! Not sure how the CBS numbers were, and not sure if it's likely to happen or not, but the League is happening for sure

hahahaha the amount of resolve it takes to do that after a loss is insane
Totally agree with Troy about how everyone not in California view 4’s 😂
hahaha it made me sad. We love fours

It is possible that Tay has grown as a person in the decade between and maybe learned a thing or two
i wonder if hurricane milton coming through will have any effect on the avp league coming to florida this weekend
Hope it doesn't hit too hard

Nina retired? I haven't seen that anywhere.
Once I get all settled in Tallahassee and get into a rhythm, 100%
