I have just found your channel and I am really enjoying watching your walks. Your knowledge and depth of feeling for the area is lovely. You even ventured into Wiltshire a bit too for this one and rekindled my memory of a beautiful but rather wet walk around Ludwell and the Coombes last November. Thank you so much for sharing your walks.
Ah, thank you so much for your lovely comment, I’m pleased that you are enjoying my mini adventures 😀 I have a few walks that touch on Wiltshire so I’m sure it will appear again 😀
Hi terry lovely video the last time I visited golds hill was in the eighties and had to push my son up the hill in his pram cos he had fallen asleep 😂we really enjoyed this ramble loved the woods and quirky paths as usual you manage to get amazing sunsets thanks for your time commentary and taking us with you
Lovely walk Mr Rambler, well described and filmed, I could almost feel the mud overtopping my boots! Beautiful sunset at the end too. Soon be drier weather, well maybe, I've been saying it's got to improve next week for about six weeks now!
Thank you for braving the mud to make this lovely long video. I thought I'd save it up for a rubbish evening on TV (didn't have to wait long!) Apart from Shaftesbury itself, I'd only ever seen this area from the car, so it was nice to see the areas beyond the roads. With full screen and the sound of the wind over Spread Eagle it was almost as though I was really there.
Ah, thanks so much Angela. The wind made it difficult as I didn’t think you’d be able to hear me 😀 Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for your comment 😀
Lovely contrasting country walk in comparison to your coastal walks.Recall playing cricket at Compton Abbas in the 1970's for Devon as a boy and enjoying the Cricketers arms pub.Is it still there?😊
Melbury is a great area to walk 😀 I did have one walk that took in Stalbridge but it was around 15/16 miles and took in Sherborne as well - I will see if I still have the route.
@@brother__Jon I have put the route up on my Routes page but I haven't walked it for many years so I don't know what the paths are like now. thedorsetrambler.com/routes/
Loved the holloway section - Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Stu 😀 Yes, that’s a lovely section of the walk and I always enjoy walking there 😀

Ah, thank you so much Jane, I'm really glad you liked it Must have been hard work pushing the pram up Gold Hill, especially with those cobbles :)

Another lovely walk. Great walking down Gold Hill!
Ah, thanks Paul :)
awesum walk mate Thank you .
Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed it 😀
How you climbed up that last hill beats me. Driving home on the higher blandford road, it's eyes left to take in the view opposite the airfield.
lol, yes, its a bit of a steep one 😱 Its an amazing area to walk with views around everywhere 😀

Thanks Andrew :) I don't know of a pub in Compton Abbas but there is a Cricketers in Iwerne Courtney (AKA Shroton) which is not far away.
And home..for toasted Hovis and a big mug of Bovril for supper, lounging in front of a open fire, after that roving ramble.
Yep, heaven in the winter months 😀
Love melbury beacon, I camped on there last year. Do you know of any nice walks around Stalbridge ?
