Lou is a solid dude. SOIA is my favorite hardcore band simply for the fact that they brought some validity to feeling conviction in liking both punk/hardcore and metal. I was a metalhead for many years and then my interests began to shift very quickly to punk and hardcore in recent years just because of people in or from the scene who made me begin to believe heavy metal was silly and cringe (which at times it very much is). I couldn't listen to Accept or Savatage or Heavy Load for awhile because it wasn't punk or hardcore. I didn't wanna leave it behind, though. It's acceptable for people in the hardcore scene to listen to extreme metal, although, it's typically bands that have roots in punk (Entombed, Type O Negative, Candlemass, Bolt Thrower, Voivod, etc.). Traditional heavy metal is a tough genre to reconcile with your place in hardcore. It wasn't until Lou's declaration of his love for those bands that I began to feel confident in liking trad metal again. That is why Sick Of It All will always be my favorite hardcore.

I was in Nefarious,we didnt use any strange cross to shoot up & were not shooting up back stage & no one in band was in hospital for 6 months. Cool story though! Nice interview.

@@AnalogAttack im thinking he may have us confused for State of Hate concerning some of these events. I know it can be hard to keep every detail exact after all these years. As for Sticky Filth they did continue, releasing a new album a few years back. They are a living legend here. Not a lot of NZ bands leave the country as we are so far away & with our weak dollar it makes it very hard to tour outside Australasia.

@@AnalogAttack Those two Auckland shows in 1995 were the stuff of legend. Being a fan of anything heavy or fast in NZ was quite unique back then.

Some HC guys here in Brazil should watch this interview just to see how stupid they are to not like Rock/Metal... Motörhead blanket, Venom shirt ... fucking awesome interview... in the end it is all about screaming guitars , fast and furious songs. Frank Sinatra of metal was awesome... Met Lemmy three times and always was a gentleman. Cool collection Lou ... love all that bands ... GBH, Discharge, Broken Bones.. English Dogs , didnt see any.. but one of my favorites. SOIA rules. thanks for the video.

@@AnalogAttack Yeah... some cool bands here, the main one, Punk/HC ... Ratos de Porão (R.D.P) , and others , Olho Seco, Colera, Ação Direta ...but unfortunately the bands are engaged in left-wing politics, when they should be neutral imo ... but that´s other subject... Cheers !!!
