I’m from Louisiana so raising canes and Popeyes are two of my favorite places however me and some of my friends can agree raising canes is medium tier but really what puts them over the top is you will never get cold food they keep it simple and fast

I use to work there and the chicken is litteraly made the moment you order it. They dunk it in the binding liquid, put it in the breading and chuck it in the fryer to order.

I love canes. But I admit the sauce is the saving grace. Everything there is like a 7/10 (yes for me even the fries) but the sauce is a 10/10 and compliments everything perfectly

I worked at Canes for years.. You can actually order Canes sandwich with buttered bread, so they butter the buns and toast it. But you can also ask for a sandwich on toast. 3 tenders, lettuce and sauce sandwiched between sauce. Kick it up a notch by asking for it on toast with butter on both sides. They butter both sides of the toast instead of the usual one.

I just really love the tailgate feel of Cane’s, there’s a certain way everything you order from there comes together where the sum is greater than its parts lol But I knew Popeyes would probably have them beat flavor wise. They have great seasoning & breading
Working at Cane's I definitely recommend asking for the fries extra crispy! It does help!😊

I see a lot of comments saying "ask for it to be cooked this way ... Ask for this ... Ask for that" at that point you might as well go to Popeyes. At least they will consistently make your food good without having to ask..

The thing about canes is that every single item, other than the coleslaw (which is actually really good to me), depends HEAVILY on their really good sauce. Popeyes is good without any sauces.

I'm flabbergasted by the size of the strips they got from Popeyes lol I *never* get strips that size from them. Also, with as much as they mentioned Bojangles, I kinda feel like *that* should have been against Popeyes haha.

I think the problem with cane’s fries is the steam gets reabsorbed by the fries in the styrofoam so they end up soggy
At other restaurants, dipping sauce is a condiment. At Canes it is an integral part of every thing you eat. You can't separate anything from the sauce, that makes it incomplete.

We don't have a Raising Cane's in my area to compare, but I have never - not once! - had a good experience at Popeyes, so this one really surprised me.
All food places hinge completely on whether or not the employees are any good. The Popeyes closest to me hits perfectly 99/100 times. Meanwhile the Cane's near me spent its first year being really bad because they hired bad employees who apparently didn't know how to cook chicken. The Taco Bell near me goes through phases of being wet slop eating through the bag and just being regular low quality Taco Bell.

Cane's sandwich needs extra sauce, and you should order it with buttered buns. (Secret tips) You can also get the sandwich on the toast, and as a note, you should always get your toast BOB (Buttered on Both sides)

That’s a lot of extra stuff you need to do to make a sandwich that cost 3$ more than the competition taste on par with everyone else.

When I get Canes, I always swap the slaw for extra toast. That way I can throw a tender, some fries, and some sauce on there and make a sandwich. I've actually never ordered their sandwich. I think what Canes really needs to do is come up with a new item, maybe spicy tenders?
If you want you can actually order the sandwich and ask the to swap the buns for toast at no extra charge.

That’s what I was thinking. They have very similar menus and would’ve thought they matched up better
My favorite thing to do when I get canes is to get extra Texas toast, put chicken tenders, lots of sauce and coleslaw on top, and then put another Texas Toast on top of that and make my own sandwich which tastes soooo good. You should try it. Oh, and if you eat the toast butter side down on your tongue, you get a better flavor profile. That goes for most foods actually.
i used to work at canes, you can actually get the sandwich with texas toast & people would get the toast B.o.b style (butter on both sides) & people loved it from what i’ve heard

Canes’ food is really just a sauce delivery device. That’s said the toast is unbeatable. I’ve gone there for just a sweet tea, a bunch of toast, and some sauce.
You guys are the reason I’ve been wanting to try Bojangles but I’m in Ohio and the closest is down in Kentucky for the longest time. Now they’re building one around the corner from where I live and I have to say I’m pretty stoked
I live in Texas and we also don’t have bojangles but my husband has family in Alabama and bojangles is damn near my favorite part about our visits there😂

I went to LSU, and the original canes restaurant is right by campus. Like basically on campus. And it’s so fun and cool inside. All the Canes have the fun wall hanging stuff going on based on the original which has such a original diner feel.
I wish it would’ve been Zaxbys vs canes but they must not be able to get Zaxbys fresh. They are the two most similar places to each other. I live on the college campus that Zaxbys originated from as well
We’re getting a raising canes near me in Florida and I’m so excited to finally try their sauce lol
Perfect Box for Rhett And Link (recommended from a bird specialist at canes): Box combo with Extra crispy bird (ask for a minute extra) Crispy fries, and for added measure ask for a BOB (toast buttered on both sides) or a sandwich but ask for it on toast
My favorite: Get the sandwich everything crispy, no lettuce order an extra slaw and throw that bad boy on top of the chicken. Maybe a few fries for added texture, and chow down!

I don't think I've ever gotten bad fries at Popeyes. They are insanely good when they're fresh, and there's been times where they're still crunchy way after they're "supposed" to be.
@SergeantTeabag my mom's worked at popeyes for 8 years and the fries have never got old
they are very inconsistent in my opinion if you get the freshest batch yes they are upper tier but if not then they fall flat

Best thing to do when you go to canes is ask them to double fry the tenders, it gives it a bit more crisp and is so solid.
