It's funny that the pretender shell has two heads that are portrayed with two personalities, but the inner robot has only one head. Does that mean he's bipolar and his shell allows him to manifest both personalities simultaneously so he can argue with himself? 😂
Was going to say this, I think it's actually one of the better-looking small Pretender alt modes, they could probably pretty easily retool TR Slugslinger if they wanted to do a modern version, besides the dual cockpit even the legs fold up in a similar way to form the back of the jet
Nice job PPR! This is one I've never seen before but thanks to you I know all about him now. I have pretenders jazz and bumblebee somewhere in my garage and pretenders were an interesting idea to me. The shells are very nice. Thanks for going back in time and showing us some of these extra special ones. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Awesome to see a new Pretender review. I'm still working my way through the others. The concept has always been the best thing about Pretenders ha ha. Some have great shells and some the robots made it. It's a wonder why they didn't make the helmets loose and softer to prevent the scratching. Doubleheader is probably an A grade for the basic Pretender.
This gimmick probably inspired the Evo-fusion crap we got with Legacy Evolution. This is an interesting Pretender, I like that you can remove the helmet. Great review!
We need to start a petition to get Hasbro to allow Jada toys to put out nano figs of the human characters and pretender shells. I found that my Jada Nano figs of GI Joes are pretty well sized to go with my contemporary transformers.
I did have this as a kid, but I always thought that it was a weird design, from a comic book point of view. Think about it, the shell was meant to fit around the inner robot, so how could a single headed robot fit inside a two headed shell? Again, from a comic point of view. Also, I thought that the helmet-less heads looked way more handsome than they should be, almost like Antonio Banderas.
His shell looks like the scifi cousin of the three-headed knight from Monty Python & the Holy Grail! 😃 ruclips.net/video/26-PVSfo7TU/видео.html (Relevant scene for context and reference. An absolutely hysterical classic. "Brave" Sir Robin played by Eric Idle, aka G1 movie Wreck-Gar.) (Sorry for the edit, had to find a link with better video quality). I like this one, he looks more proportionate than most of the "human" pretender shells. Wow, their heads look like a mix between Data from Star Trek and Arnie's Terminator! (which is by pure coincidence how an ex-borg character I made in Star Trek online ended up looking like by pure accident. 😆) I really dig the multiple cockpit design. Like the Cloud Car or ARC-170 from Star Wars! Without the wings he looks a bit like a two-headed futuristic bullet train. Recently got the newer Legacy core class version of Bomb Burst. Fun little figure for figdeting with, interesting design idea with bleding the pretender shell and inner robot into one idea, makes him look like this kind of cyber bat with a winged jetpack/winged armcannons in one mode and a sort of bat-winged jet in the other.

A inner robot looks like a small version of Slugslinger.

I always thought it was interesting that almost every big gimmick eventually got smaller versions.

Fantastic job Patriot Prime 👍👍👍
Fantastic video review of Doubleheader👍👍👍I use to have this figure. It was okay at the time ⏰
Your Welcome Patriot Prime!👍
6:27 I have him but I forgot about that small little gun.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁🎅⛄️🌟
Same to you!

I'm glad you liked the review!
Lucky. Use to play with a buddy that had him. He sold him in a yard sale without telling me.

All i have for this figure is the outer shell, still need the rest of it.
1:19 Double.... WHO?! lol.
I'm honestly surprised I didn't call him Doubledealer more
Weirdly, I wish they’d make a modern version of Doubleheader
I wish they would give us modern versions of all of them with the actual shell.
I always wanted this one just because I thought that having two heads was cool.
Does the wingpack go on the robot mode back to give it a little colour?
It may be too big, I'll have to check it out
Im surprised they havent retool TR Slugslinger into this guy

I have the shell and helmet for doubleheader. I have several pretender shells and no inner bots

I still think the pretenders grimlock is one of the best autobot pretenders.
Doesn't hold a candle to Thunderwing
@PatriotPrimeReviews to be fair, it is mega. 😆
@@PhoenixFyre And Thudnerwing isn't an Autobot, so your point still stands =P
