@gtgene No I didn't, I wish I had time to check out more K-On! sites, the train is really the main thing I did. There's a website somewhere listing dozens of locales, all in the Kansai region. And yeah that has always bugged me that they passed Fuji on the class trip to Kyoto, didn't make any sense at all. Btw have you seen the K-On! movie on any site yet? I haven't been able to find it. I guess it's not out yet on DVD.

The mindbender for me is KyoAni accurately modeling all these places in Kyoto and the girls take a train trip to Kyoto passing Mt. Fuji. Weird.
It is in Japan. Or rather, it was in November 2011. By now those cars have most likely been painted over with something else. It's not unusual for rail cars in Japan to be painted for promoting a movie or product.
