The simplicity of this makes it really interesting and a very eye catching composition. The detail is extraordinary and in some ways easier on the eye being monochromatic. The technique is also pleasantly simple. You’ve inspired me.
Wow! Another amazing tutorial showing how to use two (3?) very different techniques. I absolutely love how you narrate your vids in such a welcoming manner. Your directions are always so clear and helpful. In the creation of this one, very early on I saw a spotted harbor seal that I loved! 😏 Thank you for a wonderful lesson!
Hello Mark, I like this composition of colors, learning is very pleasant, your tranquility and enthusiasm transmits the essence of creating... I keep taking notes and learning and having fun with you... thank you, happy afternoon🌺🌹🌻
Hello Mark, I love the grey, black & white colours you chose for this painting, they are stunning yet peaceful. Great thinking mate to swipe your puddles & then use the marble, I have never thought of doing these 2 techniques in one painting but I am definitely going to give it a go this afternoon. I have used various sized marbles in paintings & to date my most vibrant colours have been black, white & gold with a black base. Thank you for your inspiration, I learn something from you every time I watch your videos. Cheers, Michelle from Australia 🌹
OMG Mark, this one was so much fun to watch. What a great idea to use the marble! The end result is absolutely stunning and I would love to see more pieces with this technique and different colour palettes. Great job 🖒💖
Wow Mark that is sooooo Beautiful. Now I will have to try one of these 🤣🤣Looks like a lot of fun . I've already done a swipe over colors on a one tone base , but a puddle pour swipe added to that a marble is just a great idea. Thanks for the inspiration Mark . Love ya .Hugzzzz 🥰🥰😘😘💕💕
Mark, love your design and combination of techniques. I’ve been looking for a painting technique for my neighbor. He wants red, black, white, silver. Could be very fun!
Hi I have just started to watch your amazing art. How you choose the paints . Explaining how the colours work. Some videos have watched twice. Love your channel.
Really love the colors and it turned out stunning. I'm always curious what size of canvas people use give me a better idea of do I have a space to do it and just different things I'm guessing 16x20? Really love it.
Thanks so much 😊 I usually drop the canvas sizes in the description box of each video if that helps 🙏👍🏻🤩 Thank you so much for your kind comments (I think this one is 12x16)
Totally love it! When I heard what you were planning to do, I couldn't wait to see the results. Needless to say, you did not disappoint. It is gorgeous. You have an extremely creative mind. As always, thanks for sharing your creations. Take good care. Denise ❤
It's simply Gorgeous Mark!🥰 It has such an elegance to it with so much depth as well. Very very beautiful dear!! Ty for always sharing and inspiring! Oh I really like both ways too.... but if I have to pick only one it would be landscape. I feel like that way shows the shadows in the design better if that makes sense ;) Until next time...Pour Big & Love Hard!💕
Hi, Mark! What a brilliant idea to use the marble and get such a composition! I was thinking how would it be with silver or dark silver instead of gray or, to swipe with silver instead of white :D So many possibilities, very inspiring video!Wonderful composition! Thanks a lot for sharing
This has a lovely organic look to it and those colours are beautiful together. I have tried using a marble but mine looked like a marble had gone through the paint 😂😂😂 unlike yours xxx
Mark great pour. In the introduction I have to admit I get distracted by the beautiful paintings on your wall. In particular the one in the top left as you look at the wall. It's looks like a wave or snow on mountains in blue and white. I have been looking at you channel to try and find the video but can't find it. Would you tell me the video please as I love that painting.

Hi Mark, what’s a suitable house paint for us in the UK to use as pillow for blooms? American artists use house paints that are not available here. I’ve tried a few UK brands but they didn’t work: they surfaced to the top and swallowed my acrylic paints, leaving horrible white blotches. Many thanks.
Hi Uri, I don’t know I’m afraid. I don’t use house paint for any of my pieces so I wouldn’t like to guess and suggest a paint brand. I’ve heard Valspar is good for people who do blooms (untinted base gloss) but as I say I don’t use house paint so can’t vouch for what brand is good. 👍🏻
@@MarkJRatcliffeArt thanks Mark. I didn’t realise you do not do blooms. If I take the Shelley course, that you took, does she advise UK people what they can use in the UK, or only Australia products? I’ve been thinking about taking her course as I have more failures than successes and feeling very frustrated.
@@uriurg9857 hi Uri - I’ve not taken Sheelee’s Course but I understand it’s great. I think she does recommend UK products and there is also a Facebook group with her Course (I think). I took a more general acrylic pouring course. Just so you’re aware, Owatrol are making their own version of the Australian Floetrol so hopefully I’ll be testing that soon for the swipes to create lacing. Good luck with your course and I’d love to know how you get on. There is a UK Acrylic Pouring group on Facebook who also help with techniques if you’re interested 👍🏻
Hi Mark I have bort owatrol not used yet will I get the lacing with it or has it got to Australian flotrol I really love lacing thank you I'm in uk leeds
Hi Eleanor, it’s the Australian Floetrol that will create the lacing, but it is possible to get lacing from swiping with a white titanium too, you just won’t get as much of the lacing/cell effect. I shipped some Australian FLOETROL direct from Australia - it’s worth the investment if You’re going to do a lot of swiping techniques 👍🏻
