Stop at the wonderful bakery near the back of Clerigos Church and next to the bacalhau place (skip the bacalhau croquettes); don't miss the tour of the Porto Cathedral; have dinner on the riverfront for views of the bridge and Gaia; do a wine tasting at Cruz Winery in Gaia (15 euros for delicious chocolates paired with 4 glasses of wine); the train station is fun to see and there's a wonderful bakery that also serves food just across the street and "Cremosi" is on the other corner. Try the Bacalhau a Bras, Bacalhau com Natas, Grilled Sardines, Portuguese Steak, almond tart, pao de deus, and DO NOT miss the delicious bifanas at "Conga" (near the City Hall). Lastly, the Portuguese are like anybody else, some are friendly and some aren't so friendly. So, if you're served stale bread or you don't feel you're being treated fairly, speak up!
