Oulu2026: Join Cultural Climate Change (short version)

Oulu, Finland is European Capital of Culture 2026!
Together with 39 municipalities from Northern Finland, we want to bring more culture and wellbeing, create new jobs and develop our region in a sustainable way. Our main goal is to start a cultural climate change, helping us to reconnect with each other through culture.
Our cultural programme divides the story of Cultural Climate Change into three main themes that bring our story to life: Brave Hinterland, Wild City and Cool Contrasts. Each programme theme includes a group of exciting projects and events, and together they create a compelling glimpse of what the future could hold for us here in the North in 2026!
