thanks for the vid mate, I've been using the r2001sb and was considering swapping over for the 6303 as I use the 14sg also so I thought fasst would be better, thankfully I came across your vid first and probably saved my quad, cheers mate.
I didn't repeat it. Because if you have a fail safe once at 300 meters, you already know that you can get in trouble at this distance. It doesn't help if it works some times at longer range. It has to work every time if you have to trust in your rc system for 100%
@@ken756978For my mid range FPV flights up to 2km away from homepoint i always use Futaba FHSS receivers. Never had any issue with loosing RC signal. @RCnerd74 I know we are the minority but I have flown fixed wing on Futaba for many years. I am just getting into drones and bought a Geprc Cinebot30 PNP and Futaba R2001SB. I am having trouble getting it to work and Geprc isn't very helpful in suppling any wiring diagram or settings for Betaflight for Futaba receivers. Can you help me with getting the Futaba receiver to work with the GEP-F722-45A AIO V2 flight controller? Thank you
Betaflight needs to be set to s-bus. Sometimes it helps to use the solder pads on the FC instead of the connector. Which Uart to use you just have to try.
R6303 is the receiver in the middle of the picture... just without case and removed servo pins... in FPV all pilots trust in FHSS instead of FASST. I think this means something... Futaba should finally go for micro S-BUS receivers to make them fit all the micro drones. These Futaba receivers are all still pretty big. Work for a 5" quad. But not smaller ones...
I'm thinking the lower range on the R6303 SBE (not SB) is more to do with with the SBE not having dual aerials and nothing to do with the transmission protocol?
As you can see at 0:12, the R6303SB in the video has two antennas (diversity). I never use single antenna receivers for my rc aircrafts. It is not the SBE version with single antenna. So it probably has to do something with the transmission protocol.
Apologies, didn't realise the middle one was the R6303SB. Will have to do more investigation. It does seem odd that the "lesser" protocol would perform worse than the more "advanced" protocol. I'm thinking the installation was identical other than swapping the receivers and that it was flown over exactly the same terrain? Were the tests all done on the same day? I'll be able to do some side by side ground range checks hopefully later in the year (after June) and compare the two protocols. One area where Fasst should do better is where there is some interference present or perhaps many Txs switched on.
@@MikeWood-kp2tx The test was done with the same drone at similar weather at different days. Identical installation. The low flying test makes sense for fpv because this is the usual way fpv pilots fly.

Flysky FSi6X doesn't support Futaba FHSS. Thanks for sharing 👌
many thanks for testing. it is very interesting that the range of R6306sb is so short. did you repeat the test to get the same result?

@@RCnerd74 Maybe the R2001SB was luck to get that far. Repeating the test and take the shortest range would be the correct answer.
