That door was quite scary. Glad that it turned out ok. I keep thinking...Measure twice, cut once, Read the labels on parts, Have an extra hand on the bulky stuff, Tie things down. That’s the bad part about not having an extra hand on some projects. You did a wonderful job on polishing the door top panels...that looks so NICE... open the door and get some bling! 🤩 Love it when a plan comes together! 🧐

Loving the build it's looking pretty nice just wanted to comment when applying decals, stickers & such that if you add a little dish soap to some water in a spray bottle, then spray where you want to put the decal & or sticker area first then apply the sticker & or decal it will allow you to move or pull it back off to an extent, then squeegee out the water starting from the center out, it will give you a better result, A polish I found that worked good with not a lot of work was called Magic Mix ( comes two bottles one bottle is pinkish color other is white ) it has a rabbit on the bottles, only place I found it was at the truck stops. But found it to work better than Mothers, Never Dull or Blue Magic .

I hate doing doors. I did both doors on my old FLD. I took the mirrors and arms off to keep them more balanced. You got lucky when she went over. At least it didn’t fall on the new fender. My driver door had been hit before and everything was tweaked and lots of broken stuff inside. Trying to get them aligned was a bear too, but a nice closing door made it worth the headache.

Glad you avoided a huge catastrophe with the door. When I worked in a bodyshop back in the day I saw a guy drop a freshly painted rear hatch with the glass installed from a Nissan 300zx. Man did the foreman scream at him. He was wondering why he didn't ask for help with it. When you're alone trying to do work on bigger panels that's another story. Getting creative is mandatory. I actually saw the table saw sitting there when you were taking it off and I was thinking I'd probably slide that and one of those old tires on top of it, and you basically did just that but with wood instead of the tire. Great minds think alike. I've stacked up and leaned all kinds of things when it comes to mocking up bumpers, side skirts, splitters, etc... whatever works, works. Those door trims look great polished up! You're absolutely right about the time it takes to polish metal. I have done countless sets of two and three piece wheels and it takes HOURS. The end result is definitely worth the labor though. Nice work buddy, cant wait to see the panels from the day cab company!!!!👍😎

I have changed a few in my time and it become a habit to tie a rope to the window through that wing as well and then eze it into my one good arm. Pulled wrenches most all my life when not driving and to be honest, wrenching was the best for me as I am not a good people person and do best to eat alone. Not quite that savere but close as I don't really know what others think and get ahead of myself. I started for my dad when I was too young to argue and just kept with it. I did try other lines of work and some were "okay" but just never pushed it enough to get good. Of course now days with all the electronics and other rigging that they added like cow crap in the fuel system which just baffles me what or how ... why would anyone try something like that. I'm a W900 kinda guy but my second truck was a narrow nose butterfly hood Pete... the last was a 82 KW and never got newer as I just never drove it that much... finally did the inframe and replaced other stuff that comes at around the three to four hundred thousand mark and so looking too good one day a guy made a vuger offer of money and I took it as it put me ahead of that one. That truck was nearly seven years old and I got more than a new one for it. He had cash and I have a weakness for the stuff.
