I love how you begin by saying that, basically, you're sharing what you've learned, yourself! You keep it real. The "proper" words, stitch names etc didn't stop you from learning! That inspires people just like me 😊🌹 So thank you so much for sharing

THANK-YOU for doing a demo on NEEDLE tatting, instead of shuttle tatting! This is how I was taught as a child, and for YEARS now, I have been searching for the tatting that my Nan taught me as a 6 year old. She was Irish,(One of 18 children to survive childhood) and this was the first of two ways all the girls in her family were taught to make Lace.(You were expected to make the lace for your wedding veil and dress, before you could make lace to sell.) You have returned to me something very dear to my heart! I learned this first because it IS actually much simpler than crocheted lace. Later I could find books galore on knitting and crocheting, but not on that first love Needle Tatting.

Hello. I liked your video as I do all of them. I first saw tatting from a woman who does speed tatting, it's the same technique. I don't really like the shuttle but ne ways her site is called rusty Kate, she makes amazing things n she's been doin it for a long time. She also teaches how to read patterns. I saw your earrings from someone who said they learned from you n loved them so I want to make them when I can see betta. I'm still learnin. loved your work. Thanx, much love, God bless.

You are doing just fine! There are larger needles but they are used to tat with yarn. The #2-0 for smallest yarn like fingerling,#1-0 is for worsted yarns and #0-0 needle is for chunky weight. I just happened to fine a set at a Ben Franklin store. Handy Hands carries all sorts of needles and thread. You can call what you are doing whatever you like. I am happy you were brave to do a video~I would be scared to death! Go Girl,go!

Hi! I love your videos and the way you teach. However I have a question, you said to make a big loop but st the same time you used the thread left in the front to do the double stitches so does that mean that you should leave half of the thread in the front and the other half in the big loop? It seems to me that the front thread gets consume faster. So how does that work?

  • @MissFlux

Obviously I won't make the earrings with this .. But neck pieces and all sorts of things you could use the large sized tagged pieces.
