Paul, watching you work is a wonderful educational experience, but the tone of your voice, the background music, chirping birds…., it’s like being in a “painting spa.” Truly an immersive experience watching you. Of course your paintings are of the highest quality as well. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
Thanks so much - glad you enjoyed it!
You say it perfectly!
Absolutely true! ❤
So true they look magnificent he's so good thanks for showing us how to have a go
I’ve drifted off myself and had to reload a video before it’s so relaxing as you’ve said
... and please never change your habit of your humorous intro and your "short break", both make me always smile ❤
Lol! Great to hear - thanks!
Um, missing the apropos t-shirt. Is it in the wash?
The last minute addition of the group of trees….perfection!
Great to hear - thanks!
@@ArtbyPaulClark I thought it was a good addition, too, and was good to see things can be added later. Thanks for your videos (and book, too!), they are very helpful.
Thank you for the lovely, refreshing "art retreat" you took me on this morning, although I'm 3600 miles away! Yes, the group of trees on the far right was just the thing to finish off the painting.
You are so welcome! thanks!
I think you are spot on in adding the trees and fence in the end… they balance it and make it look finished.
Thanks Cindy!
The added trees helped to balance the composition. Beautiful! Thank you so much! :)
Glad you liked it!
Gorgeous! The last minute addition of the trees to the right was a great idea, as it stopped the viewer's eyes from wandering off the page. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Stunning painting, as always! I definitely think adding that tree in the back corner was the right call, it just made it feel so much more balanced and it makes you want to continue on the path to see what's going to be next
Thank you so much 😀
I love the addition of the final trees. They balance out the painting
Glad you think so!
Great idea for the addition of the trees at the end and the fence. Finished it off very nicely :)
Great to hear - thanks!
Beautiful!! You made me feel like I was there with the birdsong.
Great to hear - thanks!
Such a beautiful reference photo! I like how you painted so loose the trees at the top left! The wisteria is a real eye catcher ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you so much for all your time and this beautiful tutorial in East Sussex. Love the addition of the extra trees in the end help pull it all together. I appreciate all the tips as you are painting! The pond came to life with the added sparkles of white. :0)
Thank you so much!
Greetings and good evening Paul from down under Melbourne, Australia. Really enjoy watching your tutorials. Once again a beautiful watercolour - sadly too late tonight for me to try my hand at painting this little bridge but I'll "have a go" tomorrow. Cheers🍻
Cheers Dorothy - have fun!
Paul, thank you such a lovely painting and I agree adding the trees in the fence. It was amazing and when you put the shadow on the water underneath the bridge it just illuminated thank you. I’m gonna try this one soon. Oh by the way, I’m in a town outside of Austin Texas called Lockhart. Glad I found you.
Thank you so much 😀 ... glad you founds too!
So much to love about this video. Not only the painting of a beautiful scene, including the addition of the trees toward the end, but also your great instruction especially on shadows. The highlight for me was the shadow of the big tree. Outstanding.
Thank you very much Deborah!
Listening to the music and birdies while watching you paint + colors and composition (and how you masterly edit the unnecessary), well I am so relaxed and content. Who needs yoga? What a great way to end a day from work. You are an awesome and generous artist. Thank you.
Wow, thank you!
Lovely work….especially liked the addition of the fence….it moved the eye across the page. Thanks!
Awesome, thank you!
What a lovely place.you always go to the best. Great Lesson, Sherry
Thank you Sherry! 😃
Paul you're a genius!!!!!! .... from about the 4 minute mark all i saw in those trees above and behind the bridge was a tigers head
Lol! - maybe it was hiding in the bushes!
Lovely Paul. That was a beautiful spot to capture. ❤🇨🇦 Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for sharing your painting. I always enjoy watching you paint😊
Thank you so much 😀
I am from the US in a little town in North Carolina. Been watching you for about 5 months. Love your style, just love watching you paint. Picked up some tips and used them in some of my paintings. Please down stop painting, this is a morning ritual for me. Thank you.
How fun to hear you’re from North Carolina. I am currently living in a small town in North Carolina too! I been following Paul for several years now. He’s my favorite.
Hiya .... no sorry from East Sussex UK - although I'd love to visit North Carolina!!!
Thanks for watching!
I too am from a small town in North Carolina - Black Mountain. Maybe we should start the North Carolina chapter of the Paul Clark fan club!
I’m in Youngsville
I was lucky enough to attend this workshop and almost did this scene myself. I think I will use the picture I took, from a slightly different angle, and give this a go.
Thanks Stacie ... great to hear from you!
Your tutorial is my favorite weekly "must-watch-homeork' and I enjoy watching your magnificent artwork. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your tutorials, humor and talent take me to another head space! The quote “ Art washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life” sums up watching your channel! Just wonderful!
Lovely comment - many thanks!!!
I always wait for “the quick break!” Checking out the beverages. Lol.
Love this painting! It looks so pretty and peaceful there. I like the extra trees and fence which you added at the end. You improved on perfection. I think I'll give this one a go. It'll be my first. Thanks for your encouragement, humor, & creativity. You sure are a talented teacher!!! Pam Glass
Very kind ... thanks Pam!
Beautiful, as always, Paul. Somehow I have to learn to relax before September! My beloved Hansel used to sit at the kitchen table, watching me, and say, "BABY!! Vwhy are you stirring yourself aroundt?"
Hi J - yup relaxing is important!
Mesmerizing! I really liked the little stand of trees and added fence!
Great to hear - thanks!
Hello from Paris, it’s a pleasure to watch your tutorials…lots of thing to learn as a « beginner » and new fan .Thank you I really enjoy it ! Good.evening 🙏😀
Awesome! Thank you and a BIG welcome to you in Paris!
It is such a treat to watch you paint and listen to your instruction. Thank you for sharing your expertise so that others may learn and feel confident in their art. THANK YOU.
You are so welcome - thanks!
Oh the lovely bridge!! As for those extra trees at the end, yes 😁they were necessary & maybe the fence. But I think that I will have to give them a go towards the start of the painting before doing the green background grasses because I will mess it up trying to add them in the end. Always a great time with watching your videos. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Thanks Colleen - have fun!
The last group of trees definitely essential to the composition! love it
Glad you think so!
Paul, its great add the tree in the end, add balance and layers on your already beautiful painting. Thank you!

Good evening Paul. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching those lovely scenes. So nice to know you had a great holiday. Many thanks for this wondrous painting. Love the greens and the shadows and tree are just perfect. It is also a grand thing to see your students doing their own painting.

A cup of tea and a Paul Clark painting session, a definite panacea for all life’s stresses! I started watercolour 5 months ago following retirement so I’m at the beginning of a very steep learning curve! Your tutorials are a pleasure to watch and I enjoy your gentle sense of humour, the comment regarding ‘spit and a snickers bar’ made me laugh! Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge, much appreciated.
Wonderful! Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you for another beautiful painting! Again, I watched this with my hospital bound mother, who is just itching to get back to painting and really wants to give this one a try herself when home again. You inspire her!
The trees on the right and the not too obvious fence👍both added a nice completion and balance. A Lovely, calm scene. Thank you for aiding my mother's return to health these last couple of weeks!!👍😁
Happy to help in any way - thanks Charlotte!

It must be such a wonderful place where you live ❤ Here in Nuremberg in Germany we have a beautiful old castle, but not such a beautiful landscape with so beautiful cottages. I've never been in UK, so I enjoy watching when you show us your home country ❤

Absolutely beautiful painting! I was watching your tutorial with my windows open and I heard the most beautiful unusual bird. I realized it was from your video😂 quite the effect!🥰
Thank you so much 😀
Fabulous Paul as always. You make it look sooooo easy. You’re a true joy and inspiration.
Thanks!!!!!
Lovely comment - thanks Robin!
As we had a Memorial Day holiday in the USA on Monday, my days are now mixed up. I finally realized it was Watercolor Wednesday with Paul! (In my mind, today was Tuesday).
I’m definitely going to “give this one a go”. I love seeing the videos of your workshops and taking a tour with y’all.
Beautiful painting and I agree the trees added an extra dimension to the painting. Wonderful as usual!
I can’t imagine the time and effort you put into this project every week. Thank you!
Thanks so much Angie!
So beautiful! I very much liked the addition of the trees and the fence at the end.
Thank you very much!
You did the right thing by putting in the trees in the upper right corner, it looked kinda bear. I'm almost always amazed you starting so loose and tightening it up to look excellent
Great to hear - thanks Steve!
❤ Yes those last additions didn't look necessary until you added them and improved the balance. Love the reflection of the bridge arches, wonderful! Thankyou ❤ XXX
Thanks so much as always!!!
Fabulous ❤ thank you for the tutorial! Especially helpful was seeing how to simplify the reference photo to make a balanced painting composition. Thank you, and very much looking forward to a trip across the pond in 2025
You are so welcome!
Paul it always amazes me how your paintings usually go through a rough stage and look wonderful when they are finished. I started painting last year at 79 years old but found it so difficult. one thing that you do that makes it much easier for people like me is the line drawing that you give us.
I have realised from your paintings that we have to keep going and it may in my case look reasonable for a beginner. So my thanks to you. please keep them coming.
Thank you! Cheers!
A joy to watch. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Fabulous as always. Love that you added the little trees!
Thank you! Cheers!
