I would def try heavy cream instead of buttermilk on the churro biscuits. The extra fat in heavy cream gives them a crumbly texture like shortbread. They're the perfect base for shortcake desserts.
There's no substitute for real buttermilk and not the fat free stuff 😘 I make really great biscuits I must say. I think it's a southern thing.. LOL..we learned to make biscuits as soon as we could stand up next to the table in a chair..great recipes though!

Thank you!! Buttermilk is low-fat by nature :) I called it out specifically because people tend to get confused when they see "low-fat" on the label and think they're buying the wrong thing.

Being from the south I have to say Buttermilk is my favorite but will try the Pizza and Churro biscuits.

Handle the Heat Everything super cold. Butter frozen then grated. I use butter and butter flavored lard. No low fat buttermilk. Needs to be whole.
