Howdy 🤠 Thanks for tickling my history nerdiness, lol Indian did start in 1901, but the company went under in 1953. The brand was used to import EU brands in 60’s & 70’s. 99-2003 it was revitalized in CA using S&S motors to technically make new bikes. 06-2011 it was rebought by Brit company & made in NC. 2011 it was bought by Polaris, who started in 2016 using it as rebranded Victorys, lol A lot of other stuff ya mentioned is cool to learn. As for catching that myth, kudos! I haven’t heard of it tbh, lol. Also, the homey look is adorable 😊
Thanks for sharing! Very interesting info. I never knew about the Dodge motorcycle. Reminds me of the V8 powered motorcycles that you see at Motorcycle Rallys.

You are enjoyable to listen to... and are quite lovely as well. I am currently riding an Indian Roadmaster that I have modified in various ways... I removed the luggage rack and the much too large seat, as well as the front lower fairings. Thank you for sharing... will continue to view your posts. Concerns braking, I could be wrong about this, but most motorcycles now have ABS braking systems which prohibit the brakes from locking up. Also, for emergency stopping at high speeds, both brakes should be used simultaneously as the front brakes provide a large percentage of stopping power. However, I am finding that once my bike is traveling at 10mph or less as I come to a stop, I always take my hand OFF the front brake and leave my right foot gently working the back brake pedal. As I come to a final stop, I apply more force to the back brake as I lower my left foot to the ground. Only in specific applications do I ever move my right foot to the ground. There are numerous videos showing the details of what I am writing here... which discuss the dynamics in play when using the clutch friction zone to keep the rear-wheel 'loaded', especially at slow speeds.

Kawasaki was an aerospace and ship building company and only ventured into motorcycles as a marketing pitch to publicize their "heavy industries division" in 1962. The aircraft division became interested in motorcycles when working with Meguro Manufacturing and produced the B8, a single-cylinder, two-stroke, air-cooled engine. Kawasaki quickly realized it could apply aircraft design and materials to motorcycles and in 1963 Kawasaki acquired Meguro and created what we now know as the Kawasaki Motorcycle Company. And a Ninja was born.

Okay stop, the first v twin was in fact made by Herr Gottlieb Daimler in 1889 and the first motorcycle to implement it's design into a motorcycle was the Princeps Autocar company in the UK in 1902. In 1903 the following companies followed suit being Eclipse UK, Glen Curtiss USA and one of the original auto companies that joined forces with 4 others to form Audi, NSU, Germany. NSU is an abbreviation for Neckarsulm. That's the town next to Heilbronn where I currently live on the Neckar river. It's also where every single Audi A6 in the world is built. The R8 is built in Böllinger Hoffe just up the street. NSU has a small museum not far from the Audi plant. Just a 45 minute drive down the A6 (Highway Not the car) you'll find Mercedes (Daimler) and Porsche. If you really want your mind blown dive into Motto Guzzi. But I mean, all of this factual information is pretty easy to discover. Once you wrap your head around all of this, dive into the engineering that's gone into constant evolution of the internal combustion engine. Because it's still the same principle as its inception but its limits have not stopped being challenged. Compression, fuel and spark. The rest is just a dance. Who's the best dancer? That's a matter of personal preference. Best of luck on your endeavors.
