  • The height of summer 1989 finds Andy Crane in the chair for this Friday afternoon which starts with "The Puppy's Further Adventures" and includes a compilation of sketches from the Saturday morning series "On The Waterfront", "Newsround" and a repeat of "The Lowdown", in which Michael Mawdsley and friends take over the running of Redbrook Middle School in Rochdale.
Links-wise Andy reveals a forgotten and now-rotting apple (and a Bruton Music LP!) in his transmission box, Wilson is sent a fluorescent friendship bracelet by John Thirlwell's niece (much to his disgust), there's a live two way with Tony Dortie for a preview of Saturday's "UP2U" and Simon Parkin pops in to trail a special programme about getting into the music business. There's then a rare deployment of special effects as the Broom Cupboard is launched into space in an attempt to dock with the BFT Base Station!

I like how they used the COW as a representation of Space. Very creative.
