UN established Israel in 1948, giving Israel about half the land and leaving Palestine approximately half. Since that time, Israel has slowly taken about 90% of that land. This is the biggest problem as I see it. The holocaust was bad, but it’s no excuse for taking the land.
Historically, there were wars not necessarily started by Israel but won by them.
You omit the fact that while Israelis agreed to those terms, their arab neighbors didn't and attacked Israel in order to destroy it completely. They lost but Egypt and Jordan managed to annex West Bank and Gaza, and when they started subsequent wars to destroy Israel, they lost again and lost those territories to Jews. In the end Israel gave up much of it conqured and give back Gaza and West Bank to Egypt and Jordan, but they refused because of their own fights with Palestinians.

The right for Israel to defend itself has never been about Israel, it's bigger than Israel, it's about whether or not under international law a country has the right to remove a self-proclaimed existential threat to you. I'm going to give a ridiculous examples but should the U.S. have the right to destroy Canada if the Canadian constitution called for the death of all Americans and Canada then launched an attack that killed thousands? Should Australia have the right to destroy New Zealand if the Kiwi constitution called for the death of all Aussies and New Zealand then launched an attack that killed thousands? This is about the right to exist as a people and forget the marches, the U.N. has done its best to remove that right.
I think I'm really close to understanding your example about Canada...I just need to bash my head into a wall a few more times then maybe I'll be as brain dead as you. Just exactly how would Canada carry out such an attack on the US? By deploying 10s of thousands of its civilians across the border? Or would it be the Canadian military? Why carpet bomb 40,000 innocent civilians? Why? So if Israel wipes out all of Palestine they will have nullified the existential treat? What part of your position is rational? I guess it's no wonder you have this position. The US has done such a great job all over the Middle East for the last 12 years with civilian casualties.
