- Wanted to start the year with an animatic and needless to say, I severely underestimated how long this project would take me, Nevertheless I’m very happy with how it came out,
Will Wood is an incredible artist and very few albums pull and snap at my heartstrings the way the Normal Album does, so a video dedicated entirely to it or other animatic isn’t out of the table, for this song specifically, I took inspiration from the Memento Mori MAP that happened a while ago for the main design, Overall, I find it really interesting the way this song explores the macabre underside of a seemingly normal facade, as well as juxtaposing imagery of nuclear catastrophe with suburban archetypes.

my fave moments:
- the glitch dancing
- the b/w mask facade turning into his skin
- the whole "didn't they want your blood?" bit
and a little critique, it was a little hard to make out what direction they were facing/what i was looking at near the end, but i also see that fitting in :)

I super-duper dig the mix of 3D and 2D, and the way that color is so elegantly blasted in your face at the beginning of Vampire Culture is awesome. You really get along the feeling of Suburbia Overture in this piece.

That was incredible!! I can tell you spent a lot of time on this. There’s so many details and all the planning and editing that went into this, I can’t even imagine! My only real critique is I think that the shots can be a little too close up sometimes if that makes sense, and that can be sort of visually confusing or claustrophobic, but please don’t let that little complaint ruin this for you. I absolutely loved it!! Fantastic work!

DUDE THIS IS SO FUCKING COOL WHATTTT. i just love the contrast between the characters and the surrounding buildings; it looks like theyre trapped in a sitcom. the dance in the beginning? pretty fuckin epic. and how nicely the style changed in vampire cture and love me, normally??? dont even get me started you perfectly embodied the vibes of the songs. i think tue only thing i would change is Suburbia Overture? that or the uhhhh town. forgot the name :( but i think i would make it like really vibrant, yk? like, annoyingly so. i feel it would match the "perfect little town" vibe but i also really love that you made it in black and white. makes it obvious that theyre characters; theyre already decided on, they have those scripted lives, its all simple. and then!! the transition where the main character tears off the cartoon effect??? oh my gOD that shit was good. chefs kiss
Ahhh thank you so much!! Really like the points you brought up, actually when I first started planning it and such I almost went with the more colourfull sitcom route, but ended up preferring the 'old cartoon' vibes, for a lifeless suburbia

This is STUNNING. Oh my god. I've never seen an animatic done like this. It captures the energy of the song so well, it's like you've taken the mental pictures I've had for months listening to this and put it down in a visual form. I was sitting here captivated. It's also inspiring me to check out mental canvas because WOAH these effects.
Oh my GOD. The images, the backgrounds, the video elements, it was all so much and just perfectly represents the song. You did amazing. Can't wait to see whatever you put out in the future!!

This is great! The landscapes are amazing and I can’t believe how you made them work so well turned 3D, I think the editing can get a bit ‘janky’ at times (unless that’s the point) but that was still absolutely stunning! The effort put into this really shines through!
