I’m watching this video as I grab something to eat before I start my second job. I’ve really slacked on writing. I feel very unmotivated and depression is creeping in. This video came at the perfect time!

Love this video! I have decided to homeschool one of my kids while writing, and I'm feeling overwhelmed at the idea. So I'm looking for strategies to help make the most of my time without burning out. One tip I learned last year was to give myself a limited time to write. Instead of giving myself the whole day to work on and off on the book, I gave myself 45 minutes. After that, I was done, no matter how many words I wrote. I thought I was going to write less words this way, but I ended up writing more.
I'm so happy for you about the baby! :D

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with twin girls and have neglected my writing for the last month. Hoping to get a few more projects done before my babies arrive. Many blessings for baby watch!!!

This is exactly the kind of video I needed today. I appreciate all the things you talked about and resonate with them as a full time student. Best of wishes to you and your family (especially with the new baby coming soon).

This video came at such a perfect time for me. I was struggling at the end of Camp Nano and just felt completely overwhelmed. I was waffling with the idea of making August a month of no goals and just working on things as I felt. Then things went downhill. Long story short, my sister is too ill to care for my niece at the moment so I'm suddenly in charge of a 12-year-old who starts school in two weeks and needs to go school shopping, and have orientation, and open house, and just SO MUCH STUFF. I don't know how moms do it! Once this all started happening I just decided to take August off. No youtube uploads, no regular social media posts, no writing, nothing. I think the key is that I CAN still do these things if I feel like it, but I'm not pressuring myself to do anything. And I gave myself a deadline. Once September hits, I've got to get back in the groove (though this all will depend on my sister's health at the time). I haven't even been watching youtube videos (I have 270ish videos in my watch later hahaha). Anyway, yeah, I'm definitely going to have to play this one back at the end of August so I can get my butt back to work =)

Well, that made me cry because I so needed this right now. You are a Godsend, Sarra. I am self-publishing my first two books, and yes, I have to finish the edits that I received back from my editor before I learn to format. And yes, I am stressing about formatting. Your encouraging words to focus on one thing is much appreciated. I work part-time, and my mother in law lives with me. She has Alzheimer's, so trying to find time to write is sometimes difficult. I can't wait to see the baby...sending a virtual hug.

OMG, this video came right at the perfect time. I'm literally jotting down notes so I can implement #allthethings. I'm so busy with work deadlines but I'm also trying to finish writing my first book. Then I'll be sending it off to an editor while I learn about the whole self-publishing process. It's so overwhelming. I can't wait until it's all second nature, hehe.
Also, BABY WATCH! That's so exciting! Sending you lots of happy baby vibes.

Thank you so much for this video. I am in a very busy season as we also moved into a new home, I fractured my left heel during it and am now in a boot and my husband has MS and has had a flair up due to the move. I was beating myself up over not being able to watch the Publish and Thrive course of yours I had purchased but I hope to start it tomorrow. I also put more on my plate than I can ever accomplish each 90 days but I'm learning to give myself some grace as some things are out of my control. You are an inspiration and I love your videos, products and courses. Best Wishes with your Baby Girl!

This summer has been crazy busy. I'm technically behind, but I'm really happy with where I am in my plan. There's only four things that I have listed that fill my well... I need to find more joy. And my big goal is to increase preorders on an upcoming title. I have a plan for that!

I'm a big fan of swimming as a 'refilling the well' activity - my girls and I are always at the pool (but we do talk writing together, so it's not a complete break from our creative activities!).

Your tips in this video were very helpful and practical for me, thank you! I am somewhat of a productivity junkie, often feeling not-so-helped by what I read or watch, so I don't say that lightly! My 'busy season' is more of an indefinite life circumstance rather than a time-limited thing like a semester or a summer-with-kids-home, but I can still apply these principles to my situation and my goals. P.S. Congratulations on your soon-to-come baby girl!

Thus video was great. I like the point about season of life. I recently finished my first book and I'm 1/3 of the way through book #2. During this time I've struggled a lot with balancing writing time with giving my baby and toddler all the attention they need/deserve. I've had to acknowledge to myself that (if I want to keep my priorities in line) I may need to adjust my expectations for myself and what I can accomplish at this point in motherhood.

I have a preschooler and toddler. This is a struggle for me too. It’s an “inconvenient” time to want to be productive. I just have to breathe and remember they won’t be so little and needy forever and this isn’t a season I’ll ever have with them again.

Another great video! 👍🌟 I wish I have the same drive and energy as you. What you said is true. I took a one week break that I just realized is now close to a 2 month break because I was busy with a new work. I find it hard to go back to my writing routine. This new video is making me energized to go back to writing ☺️
I think we're all excited for your new baby! ❤️❤️❤️

I really have trouble with 'refilling my well'. Nothing comes to mind that elicits any joy from me. Stuff I used to like holds zero appeal. Nothing gets me excited. I am aware that this is because I have been severely clinically depressed for the last few years but it is frustrating. I feel like I'm playing a role when I try to do things that should make me feel refreshed and happier. It's all pretty empty so I tend to just nap.

Also, super random ... in case you don't mind sharing ... what's your wedding band made of ? Just curious if there's a story behind it. It looks like it isn't the common gold or silver and I'm looking at some alternatives myself that would be just as functional, durable and wouldn't provoke allergic reactions.

    • @HeartBreathings
      @HeartBreathings  5 лет назад +1

I'm currently wearing an Enso ring. My fingers are slightly swollen, so this is better than my white gold wedding band and engagement ring that are sometimes harder to get off at night right now!
