    Brilliant episode Gents.
    In particular Gabriel. I don’t think people realise how much value he adds to these episodes & conversations.
    His level of maturity, vulnerability and relatability when discussing these topics is admirable. As most men lead with their ego and paint an image to the audience that’s far from the truth. Gabriel consistently stays real.
    Keep up the fantastic work Chis and please have Gabriel on more episodes!

    Best thing I ever did was buy a property with my older sister when I was 20. 6 years later we sold made 30 bags each and bought our own properties. My house now that I bought 8 years ago with my now wife is worth double what we paid for it. We’ve lived well taken equity out paid for a wedding, fixed up the yard etc. would never have made it to where I have in life if I didn’t buy all them years ago with my sister. I’ve just turned 35. My Mortgage interest rate has just gone up mad though my monthly mortgage has just increased by £450 a month. This country is a mess.

    It’s actually a great idea to sit down and think what benefits there are to living in the UK for yourself vs somewhere else. Daps said in a video one time, London is good to visit but not live in. This rat race is a myth, and the weather and taxes are a mess. I’m leaving this year man, there are other options, don’t be scared to take that risk, and if it flops, the worst thing to happen is you coming back.

    Renting privately is throwing money away as you never see a return, even if people have brought over valued houses if they can maintain payments after 25 years they are mortgage free and can have something to retire on, if they want to travel they can rent out the property as long as rental covers the monthly repayment which it normally does

    • @NoNonsenseJohnson

      Paying 7% interest on the mortgage is throwing money away aswell 🤣 renting is calm.

    Great conversation- main takeaway points is living within or BELOW your means, maximising investments and savings and utilising credit wisely to your advantage. Pay things outright e.g car, annual road tax and insurance since monthly payments have added interest. But Yh UK is a myth

    Glad to hear you guys mention property. It is the best investment you can make. There's no other investment class where you can go to a bank with a little money and they'll give you the rest of the money, then when the price go up, you get the full profit. It's not about the rent, it's about the capital appreciation.

    You can still buy property if you done ACs just need to have done it years ago… shared ownership isn’t a bad thing you can build up equity then sale just depends on the housing association you use

    • @SummerTyme2023
      @SummerTyme2023 Год назад

    • @gabzqwerty
      @gabzqwerty Год назад

      @@SummerTyme2023 was only saying because I’ve been there and done it, now sold and have full ownership of another property. It allowed me to get onto the property ladder at 26 in London instead of paying 100% rent which would have been money wasted.

    • @SummerTyme2023

      @@gabzqwerty Ok cool, Im really happy it worked out for you and it is excellent that you where able to get on the property ladder in London when it made sense.
      And your right, it actually does depend on the housing association you go through.
      However, I have seen impatience cause people to do part buy part rent...only to realise that if they had just saved the money they would have been in a better situation.

      But general cost of living is low. It’s like Nigeria, shops may be expensive but you can rent a property that would be £1400 p/m here for like £800 p/m there in a nice city like Lagos / Abuja. Same with ownership, you can build a property from the ground up that would be £800,000 here for £350,000 MAX there because construction workers get paid way less than they do here & land is so much cheaper

    I wouldn’t waste my time buying a house at 40 plus on my own , unless the mortgage is completely low compared to my rent . You’d make more money investing in stocks and shares .sometimes in life you can miss the boat , the banks are giving out 27 &35 year mortgages , this is no good for someone at 40 . Too many people fantasise about owning a property , however until it’s fully paid , the property belongs to the bank miss 3 payments and you’ll find out . 🙏🏽

    Most people that bought during covid got bumped. Unless you're up via crypto or whatever buying in recent times means you've bought over market value and won't see appreciation for time.
    Renting isn't as bad especially in London.
