I commented this.. Fungus is real, called Malassezia, a yeast. What you had was most likely seborrheic dermatitis, caused by over production in sebum(skin oils) which build up and the fungus will feast on it. I have no doubt the mask exacerbated the problem you'd have had causing more skin irritation, scabbing, and maybe some temporary hair loss with it. However, seeing an older picture of you that you posted shows you had a temporal recession type loss that is common with most male pattern baldness cases and where most will start the loss from. As such, MPB is caused from your hairs sensitivity to DHT in which it will shrink in size over time. DHT Is also responsible for the sebum production and for acne and body hair growth, among other things. So it's my studied belief that, while yes, you did have a head fungus(quite common among those with MPB), your hair loss was indirectly related and it was only a matter of time for it to have shown. As well, you unfortunately had an aggressive case of it. If your dermatologist didn't catch that, he's an idiot. Anyhow, sorry for what you went through either way.

I had a bad scalp condition with yellow flakey skin and hair falling out. Meds didn't work but Organic red apple cider vinegar and organic MCT oil applied on scalp got rid of it in a couple weeks.
