This is one of the first game I played on the Amstrad CPC. It remains to this day one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. It's aged remarkably well for a 1985 game too. I still enjoyed playing it on the Rare Replay compilation on Xbox One. I still love the graphics.
Espectacular. También recuerdo el alien 8, batman, head over heels y el gunfright, este último es diferente pero tiene los mismos sprites para el personaje principal! Gracias por el video!
Back in the day. The old trick with Knight Lore was that if you stood on an item and pressed the item collect button at the same time a Jump, you would collect the item at the same time as you jumped
I think I might heard about this game. From this video, Famicom version looks the most different, while other looks almost identical. I liked ZX Spectrum footage the most. Funny how it can take almost whole day for a character to go from room to room.
I had this game for my 48k Spectrum, I loved playing it but could never finish it. For me, the Spectrum version comes first with the Amstrad version a close second because of the extra colour that gave it a slightly better feeling.
Great game and I have many fond memories playing it back in the day. Not so sure about calling it “The father of isometric games” though. Ant Attack on the ZX Spectrum was released way before this.
The game randomizes the objects each time you start (as well as giving you a random start point from 4 possible options) - object locations are always the same but they aren't always the same item.
As the answer to the question at the end of the video - My favorite is 256-colour version of this ZX spectrum game: ruclips.net/video/99q4r_eY8_4/видео.html
If you permit me to be "picky" :) The "father" of isometric games would be Ant Attack lauched in 1983, whilst Knight Lore was launched 1984. I would recommend to check the masterpieces made by Vortex, TTL, Cyclone and Android 2. These are Isometric masterpieces!

@@thepumpkingking8339 I know there’s an interview with the Stamper Bros where they suggest that Knight Lore was finished way before Sabre Wulf but held back a year. However, there’s been some very interesting analysis of the actual core assembly code routines of both games that would suggest they where stretching the truth somewhat. Things like improvements and efficiencies made in certain code routines for Knight Lore that would be logical to use again in Sabre Wulf (if it was finished after Knight Lore). It doesn’t make any sense to use older less efficient routines (in Sabre Wulf) that you’ve used in previously programmed games when you have already (allegedly) programmed better ways of doing things in Knight Lore. It’s a shame. The other PC versions are virtually identical to the Spectrum when they could have been a lot better. NES looks better but is a different, less fun, game
Zx Spectrum will always be my fave version but i must say how impressed with the BBC version i am. Amstrad...for once, it should have just been a straight port of the Speccy version as the colours look horrible. Famicom version is the worst, yet again Nintendo probably wanting to improve to their standards...well, they fucked it up, its horrible! Famicon Obviamente! Perdí demasiadas dioptrías con el spectrum. Pon color en tus juegos! I played the MSX version. Which is Spectrum, of course. Love this game!
That Famicom version just looks strange, I’d much rather play the Spectrum version
This version looks like a BS.
Of course, I heard about that... I heard that the ZX Spectrum conversion to the MSX was converted to the Colecovision which was a terrible idea

Only a year earlier.
Ant Attack can be the grandfather. Most 'isometric' games from this time resemble Knight Lore and not Ant Attack.
Someone really got the Famicom version wrong.
MSX 2 Unofficial port is amazing.
Why was the shoe a crystal ball in the BBC version and a poison bottle in the MSX one?
Why was the Famicom version completely different, overall?
