Generally stiff slow speed compression damping gives more predictable handling all around, to get the most out of the braking though it's in the rebound damping, slow and fast. The stiffer the damper the slower the weight transfer, giving you more time to react to said weight transfer. The softer the damper the quicker the weight transfer giving you LESS time to react. The faster you induce weight transfer, the sooner the COG moves, this is why softening dampers increases grip to a point. The weight shifts to the wheel faster, and also unloads the unloaded wheel faster(this is where rebound damping comes into play). This is also why softer feels slower to respond to inputs, the weight transfer is greater, and so is the inertia. Rebound damping resists the inner wheel from unloading. You probably already know all this, but to anyone else reading hope this helps.
Sounds like I should have asked Alex to drive my M5 to help me tune the suspension when I saw him at Gingerman with Chicago PCA. Didn't get a chance to say hi, though. Exhaust sounds awesome and the combo of fat rubber and lower ride height works really well with the aggressive styling.
@@FoodFighter46 the G87 and the E46 are the Same wheelbase but chassis stiffness is definitely better on the G87, by far. I don’t think we’ll have similar rear subframe/chassis issues as E46!
Car is looking really key'd in! Very smooth and predictable through the transitions, even when you overcooked it a bit into that longer corner haha. The Mazdas sure love that wide line.
Interesting old school track where you can end up deep in the forest if you blast of the track at the wrong place, though the sensation of speed is great, and you seem to have good confidence in the car!
I was shocked to see you at the track this past weekend, so shocked in fact that I was completely lost for words. I had a thousand questions but couldn't think of anything...plus I was freezing wandering the paddock.
Love watching your videos, and because of them I'm about to do my first track day with my G87 at Road Atlanta next month! Just going to run it stock as-is for now.
Man I love this channel. It’s no nonsense and have fun!! This thing sounds amazing glad you did the one sided pipe. Do you have a TCU tune? I bet you could shave a 10th or two with the shifts they seem a little heavy to me but I drive slow cars like RX7’s and Rx8s 😅. You’d know better being the professional!!!
Jackie Diiiiiiiiiiing! I'm back! Unfortunately, I'm sick because Texas weather is terrible. Never move to Texas. It sucks. Also, the guy at Micro Center didn't install my new hard drive correctly, so I can't even record the new Sonic or Mario game this week. Something bad always happens when I prepare to do something new or big. It's like a dark force tries to stop me every time. It's crazy.
Are you getting the new Alpha-N G87 M2 Carbon Fixed Rear Wing - Class 3 by IND Distribution? They started selling it on their website. It's the best looking wing for the G87 M2 so far.😁
Great video as always.. very fun to watch. Jackie, where is your gopro mounted on your helm? I tried a chin mount but didn't like the POV from so low. Thanks!
On my last m4 f82 I had ceramic coated AA downpipe and AA midpipe she was one of the best sounding m4 in UK. Got question for you my last project with f82 had 700bhp and 800 lbs but she did slid out a lot, we changed the rear tow bar upgraded that helped. With the M2 I really would like to know how the handling will be effected and 0-60 time when engine mods are done. I pick mine up next week God willing, ps can you teach me how to drive your wicked bro
How is the balance of the car when you dance on the brakes, a lot of cars can make the front end hook up better by using the brakes very gently, I'd like to know your opinion of where this car lines up compared to say an S2k or the A90.
Jackie you make that look way too easy you were doing 80 to 90 around some of those turns I would’ve been screaming like a girl in the passenger seat great job
NO WE ARE NOT! We are running 305/30/19 Nankang CRS front and rear. All mods, tires and wheels are available on our webstore: phdracing.store/collections/bmw-m2-g87-parts
The flow through corners 3 and through the S's is such a dance, brilliant!
It’s a good day when there’s a new upload
Best M2 series on RUclips!

Amazingly agile considering its weight and wheel base. Shows how much chassis stiffness affects cornering
For sure. It's a very very very stout chassis. Fun fact: G87 M2 wheelbase is actually the same as a E46 M3!
@@JackieDing86 Really? I own E46 M3 and never knew that! Gotta improve the infamous rear chassis rigidity then lol

This is our home track, and love it there. They actually use my M3 in their cover photos a lot with my wife's supra 😂

BMW really got it right with the cooling on this thing!
Shame they built it in Mexico

Someone did end up in the trees on that day too. No margins for error, proper old school track. Love it!

First mod is always the driver mod. Have fun!
Maybe I will see you there.
Sick stuff man car is really coming together.. Toyota should have sponsored you and now bmw.. you legit have made sales for these platforms
We try. Haha
we race at BHF a lot, its definingly a old school feeling track. I can wait to get my srt4 swapped 1gn neon out next year. hope to see you there!
Great track! Gotta love Blackhawk and their aggressive Black flags! Nice driving! Hope to see you there next season Jackie!
They were so aggressive hah
A track with tree shade !!! That’s a win in my books
Great driving
Couldnt have asked for better weather this day. BHF is a fun one! And damn that S2000 driver can wheel! haha
He sure can!

Crazy what this car can do...
Agreed!

Blackhawk is a fun track
lol
"Are you sure that's normal?"
"Umm"
do you pay attention to the HUD at all while on track? literally looks like a video game lol
I use the HUD religiously! The shift lights are crazy helpful, I end up not needing to look down at the cluster at all.

Apart from the AA mid pipe have you done any more mods, and are you planning on doing any engine mods?
In this video, no. Only mod is the AA mid pipe.
We plan on doing a lot more mods, engine included so stay tuned!

More stable the S2K, very easy to control in a slide, feels much sharper than Supra from factory
Great video, now lets all get back to AP calculus😂
ive probably missed videos where you mentioned this but does the m2 have a trans tune like xhp??
I believe the option to go that route is there, but right now the car is Full OEM in terms of drivetrain tunes!
What video shows how the chassis mount wing attaches to the Supra?
I dont think we ever filmed how we mounted it.
It would be awesome if you guys filmed and explained it. If you make another video update on the Supra that is.
will this s2k be faster than jackie’s one?
Similar specs it seems!
s58 engine isnt stressed at all in the m2 lol

I want your theme music for my ringtone
So how does this compare to the supra ?
Also do you think this platform has more potential than the supra ?
Stock to stock, this will destroy a supra on track. So far… it feels like we can unlock even more potential with this than the Supra
Such a bummer the Supra doesn't have a shift light sequence in the HUD.
For real!!
