The law is definitely there to keep the ruling class flush with money. Look at how under the law, money buys your way out of trouble. How is that *ANY DIFFERENT* than the way the "mob" operates?
Unfuckingbelievable the amount of polish this channel has. It would be unbelievable for a whole production staff, let alone two people. The original art, the writing, the narration, the information. Jaw-dropping.
Sam Bellamy's description of how the Rich rob regular people with laws and the Pirates rob the rich with their own courage is an apt description of Humanity. That's probably why that one quote has echoed down through time and space to enlighten us even today. Great work guys keep it up 💪👍
Easily my favorite history channel on RUclips and it’s not even close. The art, the production, your calm and informative demeanor, it all comes together to truly be something special and worthy of all the praise it gets. You love your work, and it shows. Hands down the best channel on RUclips. We need to appreciate what brilliance this channel is people!! You and your brother are true artist and wonderful historians. Bravo and thank you! 👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏼
What Bellamy said to Beer about the villany of the rich making laws to suit themselves has a striking resemblence to pretty much everything happening still.
As a fledgling story writer, I love how you guys write. I aspire to have the same texture and vibrancy in my own description of people and places as you do one day.
Thanks! I appreciate it! Always good to read a lot of writers you like and think about the specific aspects that stand out to you. I also like to pepper in words and phrases that help establish the ambience of any given time period. The language used in this one is quite different than, say, that of our Mafia episodes.
I have been wanting you to do another Pirate video for so long, your art style and presentation brings such a uniqueness to the period it’s captivating
You two have such a consistent high level. I am awestruck by your videos. Just wow. I hope your portfolio lets you take your craft to whatever hights you want to take it to. Love from Sweden
I just wanted to say how much me and so many others on here love your videos. I personally appreciate how you and your team are able to, even if for a moment, take me out of my reality, and put me on an incredible journey of emersion and lore. Thank you so much.
Thanks for another awesome video guys! Bellamy has such a cool and lesser-known story. I hope you cover more Caribbean pirates, like Blackbeard, Stede Bonnet etc. Black Bart Roberts has a great story too
No other informative YT channel has me as eager to wait for new uploads as this one. I think other comments have probably already said it all (and better than I can), but the combination of the tone, the art style, and how the information is presented is perfect. If nothing else, I hope this channel continues producing content at the same level of quality for years to come- or that other opportunities swing around for bigger projects. I'd join the Patreon if I had the ability, but in the mean time- thank you.
When the real Whydah bell was shown and that beautiful last bit of pirate music did sound I felt shivers down my spine and a big grin was drawn on my face understanding that the souls of those who chase adventure and discovery like Bellamy never died, but reside within each of us too. ❤☠
Bellamy was English, and it was rare, for English pirates to free slaves, like Bellamy liked to. He really was a legend. He didn't sell them. He would free them, or let them join his crew. His crew was very powerful because of this. He freed the plantation at nassau. One of his best deeds, in my opinion
Between the great content you two are creating, and the single player campaign for age of empires 4. I have been able to scratch my history itch lol, great job !
You are an excellent storyteller! I've watched a few videos about this pirate now but this was my favourite because you had me so riveted the whole time. This felt like listening to a real legend or myth being told.
Not gonna lie, I love getting very high and listening to these, it’s like being there, you can feel the energy of the time and place and the grandness, the epic way the mongols come upon walls and roar there mighty roar. It send chills down the spine.
