Your video is very helpful. I had code p3190 on my 2013 Toyota Prius V. I opened all this part and i saw two pipes was disconnected. I put it back now my car drives prefect . Thank you again for posting this video.
Thanks for posting both videos. My car had the same scenario. I removed the air filter housing, found both hoses were disconnected. Plugged back in place, erased codes and car drives fine. Ill will replaced part, and take it to dealership to have car reprogrammed. You saved my some 💲💲 . Thank you
Thank you!!! These 2 videos have saved me. I went through the same thing. Big BOOM, sulfur smell, tow home, still no startup after spark plugs & coils. Finally had success after changing that purge valve! (I also had a loose hose that I discovered while changing the valve) Is there any follow up to this? Did that valve change last? Thank you again!
did the car smell badly of gas? my mom is having the same code pop up and the car stopped accelerating when we were on the freeway, we had to pull over… & the engine started to throttle when we tried to start the car again
You gotta fix the regulator that is bad and causing the hose to pop off. It’s not just slipping off on its own. There’s a clamp on it. If not then it will pop off again and you might be on the freeway doing 70 mph when it happens.
Just got the same issue and thanks to you went straight to check the hoses and they were disconnected. Same issue codes. Found out that this VSV is actually in extended warranty by Toyota 180 months/150K miles. attachments.priuschat.com/attachment-files/2015/10/96212_T-SB-0041-15.pdf
@@realrandomcarstuff I did it myself and took picture before. I will stop by my Toyota dealership and see with them since it is covered by the extended warranty. I did not reset the error code so they can scan it themselves.
@@markallison8854 when driving you hear a pop from the engine. Then smoke. The car shakes. You get a hybrid system alert and a warning to pull over. Once pulled over the engine won’t start.

This comment is amazing . It shows that with this video, even an absolute newb can fix the “pipes” in their car

Yeah. No issues since changing that valve. Hoses haven’t popped off since then.
@@realrandomcarstuff great to hear, and THANK YOU for the quick reply 👍👍
What hose is that specifically that popped off
Cool
👍💯
Hey my car said the same thing, however when the car cranks up it ticks really bad and is noisy, did yours do that too?
Nope. It’s back to normal once I put the hose on
Update: car is still running fine after the part was replaced. Hoses have not popped off since the replacement
👍
What was the part number

Yes. Smelled like smoke exhaust and gas.
So a hose pops off and the fix is replace a part not just re attach the hose which is sounds really screwy.

You are unlucky but at least you're smart.
What that part name?
25860-37020
that part is call evaporative purge valve.....the other one that stick at engine body is a crankcase pressure relieve valve......
