    In my mindfulness training, I was taught that you needed to accept whatever the yucky stuff was which I could not accept the rape or the molestation.You're not saying to accept the trauma.You're saying to accept the feeling that comes when you think about it. Thank you for clarifying that.

    Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us Dr Cloud. Many years ago I was in a car accident and I didn't deal with it in a healthy way. Over time I started to be so afraid of driving anywhere. I didn't even want to drive one mile away from home.I'm thankful that with God's help and counseling I'm doing so much better. Praise God 🙏

    Spiritually speaking, if fear is not of God, does embracing/accepting it kind of "endorse" it? I hope I'm not being too religious but I somehow am feeling the need to incorporate Biblical truth with this technique, as Henry is always SO good at. Anybody have a verse that would fit the bill?
    Maybe "taking each thought captive"? Yup, that's it! Now I gotta learn to sit with my fear of not following biblical principle. I guess that would be GRACE;)

    • @monaperry2635
      @monaperry2635 4 месяца назад +4

      Yup, I agree with taking thoughts captive and putting them under submission to Yeshua. Fear is an emotion that is produced by thoughts and memories of negative experiences that are stored in our brains. We are to sit with the discomfort of the feeling of fear. Recognize, acknowledge, accept the feeling and after that you can dismantle it link by link.

      Look at it as praying for your enemy. It doesn’t have any power but what you give it.

      I think just acknowledging that God knows what you’re going through and he cares about how you’re feeling. Then meditating on Phil 4:6.

    We are going through this at it’s worse!! my husband he always had anxiety but now it’s worse than ever.He doesn’t enjoy anything he fears everything,I have to take him to all his appointment and speak for him he just can’t deal with anything and travelling he can even do that.Its a constant struggle he says he’s having a heart attack every day!!Just today he said he feels he’s going to die he feels like hes having a heart attack i keep assuring him it’s the anxiety but nothing changes because he also doesn’t want to do anything to help himself 😢

      @@isildarodrigues5138 Thank you for the update, Isilda.
      I do hope - for both your sakes - that he is seeing a good therapist. Panic attacks are horrible, but you cannot give from an empty cup and if he becomes too dependent on you then you will also become unwell.
      I wish you both the very best with your current troubles and healing work. God bless. ❤‍🩹🙏🙏

    So my baby has eczema on her face. When she starts scratching my anxiety goes through the roof. If I let it be she starts to bleed and it would be neglectful. How do I manage this type of anxiety?

    • @TheHeartGuardener
      @TheHeartGuardener 4 месяца назад

      You prevent baby from scratching AND feel your feelings.

      Mitts or gloves on hands might be ok sometimes. Also a tiny bit of Vaseline will ease itching. I'm sorry for baby as I get eczema and it sucks. Good luck with this.
