    I have a 2004 Corolla Verso ( Spacio for Japanise market) with the same 1.8 engine with 150.000 Km. ZERO PROBLEMS in all these years (just changed one bulb, water pump and serpentine belt- Toyota doesn't need to change the timing chain)). Just keep normal maintenance and that's it. By the way the 1.8 petrol engine runs better with NGK Iridium Spark Plugs ...
    For my needs this is the perfect car with rear seats that can be folded or removed completely ( like the Renault Scenic) to give you an exceptional cargo space ... After almost 20 years no signs of deterioration.......No rust ( always kept indoor when not in use...).

    Bought a copy of CM every month since 1992 - also taught me loads over the years. Still look forward to every new issue. Strange to see Martin in the flesh after following his antics over all these years :-)

      Do you have an MMT (Multi-Mode) transmission on yours? I've been looking at one corolla verso 1.8 Multi Mode, second hand, and would like to know it was a problem for other users. Cheers

      Hello, Mr. John..I have an automatic car like yours..it has a problem now at first gear. It disconnects and the gear shifts, then I had to wait a bit, then start the car and shift to the first gear..which is an embarrassing and bad thing, especially in traffic or at the traffic light..Do you have the same Holidays.. and what is the solution

    At last!!! It's great to see you finally on youtube! Without The car mechanics magazine, I would have probably never had the guts to fix my own cars over the years. I was fixing my old E30 318i back when I was 15. Not only have they given me confidence and interest in fixing my own cars, but they also gave me the confidence to start my own channel.
    I have been reading the mag since before the gold E32 7 series feature, and when I got to finally meet Martyn, I could tell that this amazing magazine is put together by real genuine people, who love their jobs and working on cars. Please keep up the great work guys!!!

    Great video - good to see the use of a torque wrench, but I am surprised that you did not remove the engine under shield as they can hide a "multitude of sins" and Steve would have not got oil all over the inside of it and his hands!

    Absolutely great to see a maintenance video on the car that I have. I own a 2006 Corolla Verso TR and I have just a couple of questions on how to service the vehicle.
    What interval would you recommend changing the engine oil at, 3000 or 5000 miles?
    With the pollen filter inside the car does it matter which way in it goes? The filter I used to replace the old one had a direction arrow on it.
    When you changed the plugs they came out dry of engine oil whereas mine had a slight trace on one or two. Is this a major problem and is it possible to remedy?
    Looking forward to watching more of your productions. Great work.

      If you do alot of mileage 6kmiles otherwise once a year oil change best to use good quality oil.and original oil filter
      The cabin filter goes in with arrow inserted on the right side
      You might want to look at rocker cover gasket if oil is present in spark plug area

    Been servicing my corolla verso myself for the past 5 years, wish I'd seen this years ago.
    Most folk don't have a proper torque wrench so maybe should explain how to do it without.

    Please help. I have a 2013 Toyota Verso 1.8 petrol automatic. For the last few months the car loses power whenever the fuel is just below half a tank. If i add any amount of fuel above half tank, the problem goes away. Ive tried injector cleaner additive thinking it may be fuel quality but am now convinced it must have something to do with fuel tank air...management or something to do with air in the tank. Could it be a bad purge valve with these symptoms. I have no problem starting and running with full tank. Problem starts like clockwork at just below half tank. Mystery to everyone ive spoken to so far.

    • @MShah-ch6st
      @MShah-ch6st Год назад

      Do you manage to find the problem? Is it purge valve?

    • @leaf1829
      @leaf1829 Год назад

      @@MShah-ch6st The problem seems to have gone away on its own since I have been using premium fuel (E5). I have not done anything else besides adding "Injector cleaner" and "Petrol system cleaner", once each, when I filled up on petrol.

      It doesn't need changing on this particular car as it lasts the life of the car weather that's true will have to do more research
