    I appreciate the expanded talk about implanters, had a round on Sal as CMO where my hypo was stolen by a thief... while in a completely locked medical room with only me, and sec OOC sided with the thief saying knowledge of implanters was metagaming... to the CMO, in the department where you can get the removers... It really spurned me off of wizden as a whole and led to me trying out other servers.

    • @Liltenhead
      @Liltenhead  Месяц назад +16

      All I want is for sec to have at least a real smidge of proof to implant check. That's kinda crazy they would consider it metagaming to implant check as if things can just entirely disappear from reality when implants are a known thing in space station's universe.

      @@Liltenhead I couldn't tell you why they thought that, and I don't have the heart to bicker in looc about it. Mime knocked me out with something and yoinked it, sec and I were both allowed to search all their bags, and thats when I suggested storage implanter and immediately it got taken ooc. This was... 5-6 months ago now, or so, so I hope they've learned.

      i once got implant checked after i stole something on mander, there was a 20 min gap between me stealing it and getting arrested, they also asked me about the theft (i fucked up and got my id logged by the door) and then stunbattoned me when i was typing. ive started playing ss13 due to how bad a taste it left in my mouth. a few days before i argued *towards* implant checking as a syndie cause i got caught cramming the digiboard into my storage, they didnt take their eyes off of me for a single second and HOS was arguing that it was metagaming to check me even after i told them i had a second stomach that let me hide contra.

      I for real hate that every time an implant check is in order there's a looc argue about it. It honestly makes me wanna just do it anyway if i've good reasons to believe its warranted and completely ignore the looc rant cuz i hate arguing in looc and it would get tiring fast.
      Whenever there's a looc argument i usually just leave and avoid the area for a bit because it really kills my vibe

    I haven't seen too many implants or implant checks in the game, but an addition I'd personally want to suggest is for them to cause some sort of damage (bloodloss and/or pierce or slash) for literally digging something out of a person.
    Fair I feel space law could also stop random implant checks. However having to harm a person to dig an implant out, leaving a mess of blood on the floor, would stress how invasive it is to just "check" a person for implants. (If surgery becomes real I imagine this could just be a surgery then)

    • @Liltenhead

    This system is better for beginners because it means you can't get sent to the electric chair like you can on some SS13 servers for only posessing an emag and trying to steal something or break and entering.
    Fun fact, the very first time I tried to be a syndicate on space station 13 I had a task of stealing the cap gun from his office. The only thing I had on me was an emag, some insulated gloves I found (not even bought with telecrystals) and an implant for hiding said emag. AI locked me in the millisecond I entered the shafts surrounding cap's room and security batonged me. They sent me to the electric chair even though I managed to hide the emag before they could take it, and I had no option to talk with a lawyer.
    I literally didn't even use said emag and it was reason enough to kill my character. God I love shitsec.

    • @ChopieTheCat
      @ChopieTheCat Месяц назад

      @@someoneo-o3938 Respect as long as you're not the ego-trip gmod admin type peeps.
      On light RP its like being a half civ, half sec who has their own private office, a fancy suit, and a job almost nobody cares about you actually doing. Most sec hate you, most clowns love you, but at the end of the day you can either help or hurt people based on your judgement of their character/toxicity etc. In short, the characters I tend to play answer to nobody.
      Someone being nice but they just carpet bombed some people? Go help them out. Try to get them less time. Use space law, even if it technically doesn't need to be followed in LRP.
      Most of the time when I help someone they either get a funny interaction/get to actually play up the fact they just got caught committing a felony or crime [which makes a great story], as opposed to just sitting in a cell ignored for 15 minutes. Hell you can start protests with other crew for people to get their trial rights.
      I am so unbothered by what happens to most of the station, as I'm essentially Saul Goodman and can be friendly and or help either side. So unbothered that I for the past 15 rounds or so I've played, I've dedicated my time to making my office a secret fortress that slowly expands throughout the station.
      I imagine on MRP it would actually have my job pose actual consequences. I wouldn't know as the only MRP server I joined I got killed by a griefer within 3 minutes and left. I am YET to go to an actual trial in LRP. [Also makes the court room a perfect place for me to do my random shenanigans like making my own copy of sci, botany, and potentially even sec armory.]
      Basically, if you see Ariv Kuznetsov runnin' around, I'm probably doing something silly. Best part of the job is, if any sec get mad at me, I'll know and be able to "defend myself" over the radio.
      Only been arrested twice as lawyer, both times let out with a combination of time served and good behavior and ended up being friends with sec/cap. Both times I was thief lmao.

    • @ChopieTheCat
      @ChopieTheCat Месяц назад

      @@someoneo-o3938 Oh and also, it leads to really funny stories. Like randomly befriending 2 graytides who were being persecuted by sec for the entire round, and finding out one of them made a secret room. Going out, getting them supplies and acting oblivious while also hearing sec hunt them down over radio was hilarious. (One of them ended up stealing ninja's armor after killing them, the other was a priest who got into a pissing fight with a sec officer and was warranted and escaped arrest somehow]. Point being I took them up as my clients and did everything in my power to help them cause they were chill. If they weren't chill, I could just radio sec and crash the party easy peasy.
