As much as i think its a good idea. I wouldnt like to be booking rooms 1 or 2 where youve paid £160 a night for people to be sat drinking all day right outside your door. No privacy and no quiet time. Whst they should have done wasjust had it where the serving doors are. I imagine people that dont know whitby and booked those rooms without knowing a beer garden is right outside their rooms are going to be complaining.
I was in Whitby yesterday and the Duke of York was our go to pub, I always got fish and chips and the missus always got the Vegetarian Lasagne, which she loved, but that is no longer on the menu :-( my missus has been a vegetarian for 40 years ) but she does not like Vegan food generally, anyway we left after a quick drink and she had a fantastic pesto and cream linguine pasta dish in Abbey wharf. It might be worth mentioning that if you buy a drink in the old pub space( upstairs ) they will not allow you to take it to the new outdoor section, downstairs maybe a few extra signs explaining this would help, I wasn't bothered but on a very hot day a couple of punters were not happy.
Always interesting info simon ,was in whitby last week for fish n chips ,holidays start in june ,july ,so good to know these changes that i would probably have missed, cheers 🍻
Simon me old pal,or should I call you Quasimodo. The bells, the bells made me deaf ( actually I love a well rung peel of the bells 🔔🔔🔔🕍) The way to the "beer garden" Looks treacherous 😳 Well lathered & in the rain. Baseoverapex😱😱. Another blinkin' good video, keeping us updated with the daily life of Whitby's man about town 🧐🎩Tally ho🦊🐺🐎Allan&Family
Looks great mate was staying 2 doors up at Harriet Hannah cottage went in a couple of times didn’t realise they had the beer garden even though I was on the pier to be fare it was wensday last week absolutely chucking it down didn’t stop us next time hopefully October chin chin mate
Hey Simon New beer garden at the back of the Duke of york, It's all well and good to sink a few with a great habour view. My only downside is when it's the height of summer, it's packed with daytrippers, and they've all had a few too many .🥴🥴🤬🤬 I guess you know where this is going ...?😏 It's not too from Tate Hill Sand with young families / kiddies . I will leave it there ...!!🫤 Chin, Chin My friend 🫡
Nice but those planters need to be on floor level..theyre just high level litter bins at the moment.. That closed in table isn’t going to be everybody’s first choice…unless youre trying to hide from a revenue cutter.. No Vino Collapso demonstrations today…oh well..
They'd be better off knocking rooms 1 and 2 into one for a downstairs bar come extra eatery should the weather be a bit off. Unless your an alcoholic hic 😂
Hi Simon, thank you for keeping your subscribers/viewers updated on what's happening in & around Whitby. The Duke of York is my favourite pub , the beer garden looks nice & I wish them every success with this new addition! Thank you for sharing, take care chin, chin! 💜
Mmm looks good but wouldn't be happy if I'd booked one of those rooms though 😂😮xx
Looks ok, may give it a try next time in Whitby.

, it’s absolutely great that you promote other businesses even though you have your own . Top fella, love this. Whitby’s own.
