I can remember women stayed out whilst hubby went to the pub on a Sunday. I would be having none of that, cos he wouldn't have got his dinner if he left me out of a pint or two.

The jollys used to do a decent Sunday lunch tthe George used to do a decent carvery and the Grandby was okay although I havent partook for a while. Maybe you could do a review of a few while on your vineyard tours. 🍷

It was still called the Angel. Or more commonly, the Big Angel, to distinguish it from the little Angel. It was a bit of a tip until Wetherspoon took it on and did a lot of work.
