We must follow the etiquettes, doesn't matters what we prefer...I have straight blonde hair but are extremely long, they reach my butt ( not classy but i want them ), so when i deal with a certain type of people, i do an elegant and clean bun, which is well accepted in the etiquette ( see the classic dancers of ballet ).

I look up how the supermodels did their blowouts, and I am going to invest in those products to make my hair look even better. The fact is this isn't a race thing and it should not make black women feel insecure. Even the white girls have to put in the effort to get blowouts or go blonde or even add extensions themselves. In fact I learned from them how to install my own clip ins because black people charge way too much on weaves and wigs and ruin your real hair in the process.

      I agree. I actually get more and better attention when I wear my curly hair so if I blindly applied Shera's advice it wouldn't have worked for me. This is why you should always experiment on your own and see what works.

      It's not about suiting or not suiting. You are missing the point. It's about what is universally considered as classy. Is it racially motivated that straight hair is seen as more classy than curly or coily hair? Yes, but it doesn't change the fact that it is. Most people of most races have straight hair, it is what it is. Do you think that she and other black women (or other women with curly hair) want it to be that way? Obviously not, it doesn't benefit us but the fact of the matter is that curly hair especially on black women is seen as unkept, unrefined, and unpolished.

      It depends on your whole aesthetic. I personally got more attention w curly hair. And was seen as exotic. But straight hair is more versatile. For example wild curly hair doesn’t look great with a classy outfit. But then it depends how it’s styled
      To conclude I’d say neither and that wavy hair is more popular with men, cause it’s in between lol plus it’s softer

    You are very pretty with your hair straight or curly (I call it nappy), but when are Black women going to learn to appreciate their originality without feeling like we have to conform? One could also say we have the type of hair no one else has, and celebrate our uniqueness. One could also see it from that perspective (and we shouldn’t feel obligated to narrow our noses either). Btw, some of the prettiest women are Afro-Cuban women. They were their hair natural and are proud of it.

  • @aloversdiaryxo
    @aloversdiaryxo 2 месяца назад +26

    If you are aiming for corporate men I would say straight hair but it also depends on the type of men you are wanting to attract. Athletes, CEOS, artist etc there’s a man for everyone and every hair type. Define who your targets are and use that to your advantage. I switch it up often!!! The mindset and your mouth pieces is the first defining point in securing a bag. Most women are average looking and not models, actors or Hollywood elite so if you are a regular woman shera advice is solid for you! Unless you get paid for your looks daily, you need straight hair.
    Stop comparing yourself to women who are society standard if you are average.
    If you want braids, dreads, extensions and colored hair you can still secure a bag but you will limit your attractors. So be wise in choosing wigs and your look. Shera is already married! She can do what she wants

    The most effective colonizers who colonized the most land and stole and destroyed the most resources are actually the Islamic armies, but curly and wavy hair is significantly more hated by them than by all other people, especially the western people who you implied were the only or most successful “colonizers” to exist, which is false. And there are PLENTY of Anglo-Saxons and other Northern Europeans with naturally curly hair, so this isn’t a race or ethnicity thing at all, it’s simply a beauty thing.
