  • Hello everyone! This chat discusses some of the pros and cons of living at home, including the impact on mental health. I share relatable experiences and highlight the importance of addressing mental health while living with family. Plus, I reveal the shocking cost of my urgent care and how it caught me off guard.
    Ugly Bill Surprise*
Remember that urgent care visit from a month ago, I was so excited that I didn’t have to pay anything. Well, I came home yesterday to a $175 bill in the mail. So after I Paid the bill and then ripped it up in rage, I balled my eyes out because that’s $175 that I didn’t plan on spending this month. And guess what? It went straight to the credit card.
My deductible is $3500.00… I don’t go to the doctor regularly because I don’t have any need to go to the doctor.
These are the days where I’m grateful that I live *at home* because otherwise, $175 would just not work.
    That’s $175 that could’ve gone to groceries/other bills.
It’s really unfortunate because I was under the impression that I wasn’t going to billed.
I told my mom, I said well I guess next time I won’t go to the doctor then. I wouldn’t have been so pressed had they given me antibiotics.
Oh, on top of that, they had to put on the diagnosis code - suspected- COVID-19. Mind you, I didn’t test positive for Covid. I would not be surprised if that comes back to haunt me later.
Now, maybe I’m being dramatic here, but I do find that to be a little bit suss, considering that I was not positive for it. And they automatically suspected that it was Covid even though that wasn’t even a thing before 2020. I wonder if they did that so that they can get paid a certain amount of money….
At the end of the day, though, I’m thrilled that I'm healthy and don’t need to go to the doctor. I mean that $175 does suck, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. I wouldn’t be so pressed about it if the economy didn’t suck as much as it does right now.
Like I’ve literally been saying, this thing is trending on social media, where everybody is re-watching home alone, and they’re seeing the kid by like a bunch of groceries and comparing what he was paying at the time compared to what that would cost now.

Fun fact about medical bills! They don’t weigh the same as a credit card or loan will. You can charge them off to collections and pay them 3 years later for half the cost lmao! Booo to the US health care system!
