This was a very enjoyable presentation - I’m hooked - excellent idea 👍👏 Both look great …. but the award goes to …> Rosenbauer - traditional look, clean and very crisp - nice job 👍
Thanks for the lesson. It was a new technology for me how to tie a muddler head. I have to try that. Looks fantastic. Another amazing technique is when Ryan Houston's binds The Dunked Muddler. I agree with @Rrandy Campbell I also think that both are just as good.
Tom's muddler looks better, but I believe that Tim's would fish better because the deer hair is sparser, therefore his fly will get down and stay down better.
How was the Squirrel tail held on before the glue was used? my grandpa has some muddlers that are decades old and i do not believe they used superglue back then.
Very entertaining, enjoy the tie off, I fish very small muddler on Adk. streams on floating lines and retrieve them back under the water on the way back , deadly . No tails though and substitute darker deer hair for the squirrel.
Happy New Year, gents. A co worker who knows I am a beginning fly-tyer gave me some turkey feathers from a bird he shot earlier this year. Is there anything I need to do to prepare them for tying? Thanks, and keep up the great content. I love these tie-off videos!
I also use the feathers for the wingback on grasshoppers. For this I spray them with clear krylon paint. This keeps them from fraying as much. Might work well for muddlers.
So much knowledge here. Thank you for sharing

Lol Flagler wins for the out-of-nowhere Marquis de Sade reference
Wow Tom, that's the best looking fly I have seen you tie. Congratulations, you're the mudler man..

Oh I missed this live stream! I like how clean Tom's fly's head is, but the body construction on Tim is nicer. To me it's a tie.
The Muddler looks terrific, but after 40 years, I can’t even catch a tree with that pattern.
These videos are my favorite!!!
ahh TIM! ya Cheated! lol

Wini smelt
good to see you from Cornwall Canada.
Well done tom!
Great video.
I think they both should get the win.

They are both great flies. Tim’s is a little narrower, but Tom’s muller is just a little thicker. How can you pick a winner they’re both good.
Tim's version for me
I will go with Tom's. Thanks guys
Ty a red grY ghost

You could put some glue on the shank before wrapping the tinsel.
It always seems to slip and unravel when tying.
Tie in a rib over the tinsel
So Tom, since you not going to Chile now any chance your back to coming to the Virginia Fly Fishing and Wine show on the weekend of the 14th?
Misted it but really like the original.
