Mitzi is reading about the death of Isadora Duncan, maybe the most famous dancer/choreographer of the period who - yes - did die when her scarf got caught in the wheel of the car she was riding in. "Little Daisy Inn" is a speakeasy - an illegal bar/club - that has lately fallen on bad times. Yep, those are all 20's dances Ivy is mentioning. And, yes, the music is Swing.
Been following the lackadaisy comics for years and it was quite a surprise to see an animated episode finally released. The characters are all great and so is the story. I do recommend checking the comic. As every page is a god damn masterpiece in art. You'll see what I mean when you check it. I got 4 favorite characters in the story. The two brothers Calvin(Freckles) and Rocky, as well as Viktor (the grumpy russian bartender) and Mordecai.
Btw! The reason Wick was so concerned about the dynimate and heavy machinery, the reason Rocky randomly got manical, and the reason Rocky was like "EY, OLD SPORT?" very aggressively was because the quarry Rocky demolished with the demolitions actually belonged to Wick! Rocky doesn't like Wick lol You missed the end credit scene after the end credit scene, where it shows Wick looking at his demolished quarry
Rocky and Freckle are cousins, don't know what it is but them boys got the devil in them. Something in them craves destruction but freckle is a lot more restrained and regret full about it. Also they're Irish.
This is the reaction I’ve greatly been looking forward to. Everything about this animation is top notch, better than most modern animation made by professional studios
something I just realized If you pay close attention right before the car "enters" the quarry you see rocky give a manic smile followed by the headlights going from the entrance to the sine and som tire screeching Meaning ... Are favorite sociopathic furball aimed at the last second for it on purpose And it's totally in caricature for how he is in the comic
