If you don't mind having a check engine light on, then remove the SAI plumbing and pump from the vehicle. Take one of the pipe-to-head ports up to a bolt and screw shop. Get 4 of the big ol fat bolts to use as plugs. Plug the 4 holes in the head. Plug the vacuum line port that got pulled of the manifold. Profit? I haven't had any increase or noticeable decrease in economy or performance. I plan on getting a big ol variable resistor to simulate the draw of the motor so the light stays off, but I don't mind a check engine light for now. I removed the SAI because I put a hole in one of the pipes when pulling my head for a HG replacement. I wasn't going to pay for a new pipe, so I decided to remove the dead weight of the system. Eventually the cats are going to get deleted too once they finally stop working enough to not throw a code. I'm not anti-emissions systems, but I am anti dumping money into the emissions of a 1500 dollar truck that doesn't get smogged. So long as I keep it not burning much oil and coolant and make sure the mixture is still about where it needs to be, it isn't putting out too much pollution anyway and SAI is only active for a little bit sometimes during very cold starts. It didn't ever kick in during the mornings here in summer anyway.
@@encoded911 What kind of variable resistor would you use so that the engine light would stay off when I delete the SAI system? I too broke that same pipe but I would hate having the check engine light on. Thanks for the help
The coil pack need not to be grounded since the actual coil pack is enclosed in ceramic. But, the original bolt holes are bolted to the alternator bracket so there should be ground around that area. I have seen some discussions that it needed to be grounded but guessing the spark will be jumping all over if it happens to be grounded. Cheers

Hi, About the common bracket that you mentioned where you bolt the coils, are original from factory which I do not replicate. I know that it comes with the coil packs once you purchase them. Every set of coil packs I purchased for my Discovery came with that. Thank you Maggie
Gerry, not seeing these on eBay currently? I can't use the bracket due to a relocated washer bottle, but could use the other components as a basis to do a custom setup. Can you message me directly? I'm in a time crunch could use some assistance. Cheers!
The reason the coil pack is behind the engine is to minimize water getting on it !. Where the bloke is mounting it now means it will get a bath every time it rains ! .
@@kevinduffy6712 actually if you put dielectric grease inside each wire socket and prongs that slide down eac plug tower the spark never gets wet. I bought one of the first kits sold and it’s still running strong today. Nice try
Recommended Magnecore plug wires will not fit by a long shot! If you plan on owning the car for a long time it might be worth relocating, but honestly for the life of coils and wires might be worth just taking the upper intake off and leaving in the original location.

I don't need the brackets, where can I just get the extension harness wires?
Did you remove the original coil pack from the back of the block or did you leave it and just put in the new one?

Is that this same engine shown here? The 99-2004 disco 2? I've never heard of this, definitely going to try it. You disconnect all the wires first?

Yo te compre el kit hace como 2 años y todo exelente !!
Such a great idea.
Hey I have a question. Does the coil pack have some type of ground or Earth wire or is there Just the Two harness connectors to plug into both sides?
The coil pack need not to be grounded since the actual coil pack is enclosed in ceramic. But, the original bolt holes are bolted to the alternator bracket so there should be ground around that area. How do you remove the old coil pac? ( if there is one) and Why/When is the relocation helpful/necessary?
its so you dont have to remove the manifold and reach to the back of the motor
So the old coils can stay back there with no problem
