Just want to throw it out there that I said out loud to myself “oh man, it’s him” the moment he mentioned to Lauren that the address on the envelope was printed by an old typewriter. It struck me as instantly noticeable that, while the game takes place in the modern time, his office is straight out of a noir film. Old typewriter was right there on the desk, his refrigerator is from the 50s/60s, he’s got that super old Studebaker looking ride… everything about him said “holding onto the past”. He also never once even interacted with the other law enforcement. Oh and the old door with the door knob in the middle.
@@bananajoe7365oh there’s a lot. Like how did Scott have time to kill manfred in the 10 seconds Lauren was Distracted? And his inner thoughts make it sound like he’s actually searching for the killer. And why does Ethan keep having those blackouts with the origami in his hand, even though he’s not the killer? And if Scott started killing immediately after witnessing Ethan trying to save his son, how could they think it’s Ethan even though he’s been in a coma for 6 months after the fact?
While I do sympathize with what Scott went through during his childhood, his actions were FAR from justified. He essentially thought that since his alcoholic father didn't lift a finger to help his brother, he thought that it was okay to drown kids in rain water and make fathers have to suffer and nearly die to save their sons.
He didn't think "it was okay". He had a goal to find a truly loving father, all else weren't as important to him. This is why we will always have villains in the world, because people are so eager to find the most convenient excuses to detach from the idea of being a villain.
I feel like it was a missed opportunity to have Scott have multiple personalities it would explain a lot such as him risking his own life just to accuse the mob boss' son and saving Lauren even tho its possible to leave her but why would you if you didn't know he was the villain?
@@TheRealZachHadel This game had so much potential. They could have done so much with this game I remember when I first played it I thought I would see a huge twist at the end but I was so disappointed. Nobody would have thought that it would make so much sense. This game would be so much better But sadly they ruined it.
Scott does all this in order to collect the maximum possible amount of evidence on himself and cover all traces. Then he burns everything that he managed to collect. He also asks everyone about the origami killer to make sure no one suspects him.
I knew it was him from the beggining but because i knew they gonna try an unimaginable plot twist, still i think it didn't match his character and personality with a serial killer, no matter how the serial killer tries to hide it, he always gonna show strange feelings or at least in some particular moments, something that this character didn't have...
psycopaths actually know how to hide themselves.... you would be surprised.... also shelby most likely suffers some other problems so he may believe he is the good guy when he is not really, he tries to act good and do good things but actually he is just a pail of shit.
I remember doing research about psychopaths in middle school for a project. I remember a lot of sources saying how you would never know that a psychopath is next to you because they act like any other human being, even killers. There are people who kill yet live the rest of their life like anyone else would, with a job, hobbies, etc. I love the detail of this game, the story was amazing and very entertaining
There is no way you knew.Even the best players of this didn't knew what to do.Besides he did show some signs. He was more brutal than the other characters and he never hesitated on beating or killing people before he was revealed. Also he knew very well how to cover his tracks and thats why he played the detective
I think Carter Blake should’ve been the killer. I would’ve written that Scott was actually trying to find the killer, but not because he was hired by the victim’s families. Because it was personal. The Origami Killer was murdering those kids exactly in the way that his brother died… subjected to a slow death by drowning. While a surprise twist was a good idea, for Scott I don’t think it completely works. Especially not at the part where he kills Manfred. There is no way he would have enough time to do all of that, especially not with Lauren also in the shop. If she had noticed for even a second that he was not in the room, she would’ve figured out he was Manfred’s killer. The little toy ballerina serving as a temporary distraction for Lauren is complete nonsense.
I think Ethan ex wife Grace should be the killer, she experienced such a tragic accident and it's easier for her to develop a extreme mindset which push other to experience same tragicdy. And it will also explain why those trial target Ethan and make him hurt himself continously, which is a revenge against Ethan because of his fault of Jason
This isn't a plot twist. This is the game lying to you. There wasn't new information that recontextualizes some scenes while still being coherent. It just showed you shit and then told you "Nah, that one didn't count". There wasn't even an attempt at establishing an unreliable narrator, the game just contradics itself, otherwise it couldn't surprise you in a consistent way.
Personally I was always under the impression that Scott suffers some kind of personality disorder after his trauma. Hence why we couldn’t find out any of this when playing as him (the “detective”)
It is still my favorite game next to DBH. I don't give a single crap of what everyone else is saying. For me it is a game about love and about relationships with others. About a father who lost everything and is desperately trying to get a fracture of his life back. In the end though, it's just a game written by a person who just wants to express himself through that kinda of media or whatever. Why so much hate? This game has motivated me in my life and it still does and thats what makes a game good imo. Thanks for reading and have a happy new year :)
