Golden Circles was the best tasting bread back then - that was all I purchased for my family. My kids and spouse enjoyed them as sandwiches, toast, with spaghetti and meatballs - anything that we used bread for - Golden Circles was the one! When the company stopped making it, that was a sad day for us and we had to find a substitute...nothing was ever as good as Golden Circles.
My Aunt used to always have this bread over at her house and I loved it. So delicious smaller in size and had a sweet taste to it. Mom never bought GC bread…It was more expensive than regular Taystee or Wonder White Bread. Wish they still made it.
If you watch just about any commercial or TV show, the eight to ten year olds in the 1970s were a hell of a lot smarter and better spoken than the teenagers of today.
He was on the Mike Douglas Show a few times. Once, he was on the show with his parents. I think he was around 7 years old and his mom said that he read at a 10th or 11th grade level. He went to a Montessori school through the 4th grade. If you know anything about Montessori (my son also went, so I can vouch for this), it wouldn't surprise you that the kids come out very creative and above their grade level. Very smart kid!
Golden Circle Bread, yes ,the memories. It was small and almost round but it tastes subperb. I can't afford the specialty bread that they produce today so I purchase the dollar loafs from the supermarket. I buy 5 or 6 loafs at a time and stick them in the freezer. Mason is a down to earth guy. 👍
He had a pretty good run with the commercials, and for some reason, Mike Douglas liked having him on his show a lot. Mason even had his own VERY SHORT LIVED SITCOM (it was bad). Like most child personalities, the "cuteness factor" was all that they had, and their success never transitioned into adulthood.
Came here from another compilation video, that didn’t have the comment section, but this little boy looks just like the “Apparently..” state fair boy.... 😱😧🧐
I don't really know how I ended up here, but being an English kid whose third parent was the TV, I am fascinated. If you had said this kid was a young Patton Oswalt I would believe you (compliment). Best wishes from an Englishman in a French forest. 🌞
Thank you! I was starting to think this bread was a figment of my childhood imagination! My mother use to make me hot tea and toast of this bread whenever I was home sick (back in the 60s).
To be honest? People in the 70s, even the girls, ate it all: carbs, red meat, pastries, etc., but they still seemed to have great bodies. And gyms were not as popular back then!
I was a kid in the 70s, and I don’t remember this kid at all, nor have I ever heard of that bread... Glad I don’t remember the kid, wish I could try the bread...
@Mr. Tone So Golden Circles were mainly in the northeast? This bread looks and sounds delicious. I’m in southern WV. We had a bread called Roman Meal and it was awesome..
I got here because of "Love dont judge".....all a long u thought he was a 54yr old lesbian going out with a 20something yr old chic....turns out he's a guy....and man, even at the age of he kid he had an ugly older looking face
In New Yawk, we call dem circle-y bread thangs... wait for it..... BAGELS! Jack, you're not that great of an interviewer - and I always thought Mason was actually a size-challenged adult.
Mason was another gary coleman, hollywood baby. Both were much older than they claimed. Also, Mason was definitely a female. Gary coleman might be one also.

My great grandmother used to buy that bread from “Met Foods” in the Bronx back in the 80’s… and Yes, it made excellent toast!😁
My favorite bread ever and im 59. I still remember it after all these years
I come back to this once in a while, his expressions are priceless... Thank you !

Wow--takes me back. My older brother loved this bread and my Granny kept him with plenty!
He seemed smarter than those of his age. He could say "Niacin ", I couldn't back then.

He seems to have a form of dwarfism....so how do we know they weren't lying about his age 😱

Mason is a down to earth guy. 👍
Golden Circle bread is still around?
Amazing how he didn't go on to have a fabulous career in showbiz, but I guess he was smart to get out before it got bad.
Im kinda suprised he wasnt on sesame street. If he was i dont remember at all. He was everywhere else it seems like.

Best bread for grilled cheese sandwich.
Very precocious as were most child stars back then.
Mason Reese was a natural 🤩
Idk why the company stop making them , that bread was so good ..
Indeed

Agreed, I have very fond memories of this bread. I wish I could find a recipe at least.

TimeGlider was that red head the munchkin in wizard of oz?
Mason looks like he just took some huge dab hits
"It also makes excellent toast."
I'm surprised this kid didn't go on to work for the FDA or become Surgeon General.
I wonder if Mason would have been as popular if he had a flattop or a buzz cut.
whatever happened to Mason Reese he was so adorable back in the 70s
@@mikeofmanymikes2630 she's not a tranny
I loved that bread when I was a kid.

loved that bread
Not sure why we never tired Golden Circle...Mom always brought a Wonder bread knock off..
You can' put Underwood spreads on them too. ;)
the serving size is 8 slices!!!?? :/
Yeah I have 4 sandwiches for lunch every day. 😂
taystee one time owned merita bread in the southeast.
They didn't know what a carb was back then
Isn't Golden Circle bread just enriched white bread that is no different from the regular bread one would purchase.
He still has the same haircut today.
Why do their voices always sound so odd in old timey videos?
Red jacket guy sounds like Trump trying to sell something.
i thought he was a dwarf...he wasnt...hmm!
Mason Reese looks like actress Anita Dangler...
Vegetable shortening was a good thing back then.
The bronx favorite to bad they stop makeing it the best grilled cheese bread.
I ate Wonder Bread, & probably that one too...
I liked Rodney Allen Rippy better. He was a nice kid. Mason Reese sounded annoying, he's probably a nice guy today.
Unusual looking 'boy'... I almost feel that they gave him too much to say... Not kid-like at all... maybe that was is shtick!
I was a kid in the 70s, and I don’t remember this kid at all, nor have I ever heard of that bread... Glad I don’t remember the kid, wish I could try the bread...
Same here. I just remember white bread and brown bread. We had a bread box too. And we had real butter at home, never margarine.
@Mr. Tone So Golden Circles were mainly in the northeast? This bread looks and sounds delicious. I’m in southern WV. We had a bread called Roman Meal and it was awesome..

Hey
A little stuck on yourself?? Not even Michael Jackson needs to be neglected for that 100year long introduction...

Yup, we called them "Bagels ", there's also Bialys too.
I thought he was a midget.

@@mikeofmanymikes2630 he was born with some medical issues that caused him to not be like other kids if you look up old videos from his mom and dad
Too long of an intro. Needless.
Terrible video too much talking.
Too much typing too.
He looks like a young Barry Manilow.
Or a young Danny bonaduce...
