As part of launching Barney's new International House and its designer dens, JB employed Richard Avedon to photograph each designer and place the portraits as full pages in the Times.

In re-imaging Barney's from a "Discount" store to the world's most fashionable men's store, JB sought a serious woman's opinion on Menswear, and got friend and super-famous fashion model, Wilhelmina, to interview and recorded the ideas in the Times.

Expanding on the fashion image of Barney's JBA's J.Allen Murphy produced 50 full wardrobes for 50 diffeerent styles and we published these as a "Shop" within itself.

JB hired J.Allen Murphy, former creator of Men's Harper Bazaar, and, in an unusual agency service, had him provide Barney's with complete inter-shop wardrobe planning for its customers.

This whimsical ad introduced a new customer service for the busy executive, his secretary could call ahead for an appointment with a suitable salesman.
