Bring a communist to Barney's.
Another Times ad in Barney's New International House launch campaign in the Times. Perhaps Steve Gordon's most stimulating idea before leaving JBA for Hollywood and, later, writing and directing the blockbuster movie, ARTHUR.

Another example of how JB convinced Barney's to do public good for its own benefit. Barney's new Espresso Bar charged 50 cents so that it could give that money to UNICEF (and then promote same gift giving to NY Times readers.)

In re-imaging Barney's from a "Discount" store to the world's most fashionable men's store, JB sought a serious woman's opinion on Menswear, and got friend and super-famous fashion model, Wilhelmina, to interview and recorded the ideas in the Times.

Does NY Need Barney's New International House?
My favorite bread ever and im 59. I still remember it after all these years
What an awesome little dude!!!
Idk why the company stop making them , that bread was so good ..
Indeed
My Aunt used to always have this bread over at her house and I loved it. So delicious smaller in size and had a sweet taste to it. Mom never bought GC bread…It was more expensive than regular Taystee or Wonder White Bread. Wish they still made it.
The bronx favorite to bad they stop makeing it the best grilled cheese bread.
One of my favorite commercials. The other one is "Bullfight" for the Fresh Air Fund
He looks like a fat middle aged woman with that hair
Mason Reese looks like actress Anita Dangler...
My favorite bread I give anything to find a loaf right now wow amazing breas
Best bread for grilled cheese sandwich.
Too long of an intro. Needless.
Loved Golden circle bread
Ollie was in a Parkay commercial.
My great grandmother used to buy that bread from “Met Foods” in the Bronx back in the 80’s… and Yes, it made excellent toast!😁
Not sure why we never tired Golden Circle...Mom always brought a Wonder bread knock off..
I don't really know how I ended up here, but being an English kid whose third parent was the TV, I am fascinated. If you had said this kid was a young Patton Oswalt I would believe you (compliment). Best wishes from an Englishman in a French forest. 🌞
It's been 8 years. Where ever you are. I love your videos!
He still has the same haircut today.
Came here from another compilation video, that didn’t have the comment section, but this little boy looks just like the “Apparently..” state fair boy.... 😱😧🧐
Does anyone know how many Men of Destiny spots were actually filmed? There is another one with the kids on a different stoop (I think same Brooklyn street).
Unusual looking 'boy'... I almost feel that they gave him too much to say... Not kid-like at all... maybe that was is shtick!
I come back to this once in a while, his expressions are priceless... Thank you !
You can' put Underwood spreads on them too. ;)
Golden Circles was the best tasting bread back then - that was all I purchased for my family. My kids and spouse enjoyed them as sandwiches, toast, with spaghetti and meatballs - anything that we used bread for - Golden Circles was the one! When the company stopped making it, that was a sad day for us and we had to find a substitute...nothing was ever as good as Golden Circles.
I wonder if Mason would have been as popular if he had a flattop or a buzz cut.
I got here because of "Love dont judge".....all a long u thought he was a 54yr old lesbian going out with a 20something yr old chic....turns out he's a guy....and man, even at the age of he kid he had an ugly older looking face
"It also makes excellent toast."
And now he's had failed businesses and grabbed him a porn star for a gf
C H Idk why but I sense jealousy in you
It' no coincidence that this little devil puppet goes by the name Mason Reese aka Masonries. Most likely Mason is actually a little girl, not a boy.
What?
Red jacket guy sounds like Trump trying to sell something.
Mason Reese was a natural 🤩
Isn't Golden Circle bread just enriched white bread that is no different from the regular bread one would purchase.
Strawberries ! this is great stuff.
Whatever happened to JBA? Love the content
He looks the same
That kid was freaky looking
He played in the Goonies
BUG-juice so you’re saying the freakish looking kid has money....... Got it. 😂💦
Stephen Lozano Yeah actually
BUG-juice yup, you can always count on Gold digging strippers to be with even the ugliest dudes😂💦
the serving size is 8 slices!!!?? :/
Yeah I have 4 sandwiches for lunch every day. 😂
Why do their voices always sound so odd in old timey videos?
A little stuck on yourself?? Not even Michael Jackson needs to be neglected for that 100year long introduction...
i thought he was a dwarf...he wasnt...hmm!
That poor kid. Run!!!!!!!!!!
They didn't know what a carb was back then
I was a kid in the 70s, and I don’t remember this kid at all, nor have I ever heard of that bread... Glad I don’t remember the kid, wish I could try the bread...
Same here. I just remember white bread and brown bread. We had a bread box too. And we had real butter at home, never margarine.
@Mr. Tone So Golden Circles were mainly in the northeast? This bread looks and sounds delicious. I’m in southern WV. We had a bread called Roman Meal and it was awesome..
2019
Mason looks like he just took some huge dab hits
Golden Circle Bread, yes ,the memories. It was small and almost round but it tastes subperb. I can't afford the specialty bread that they produce today so I purchase the dollar loafs from the supermarket. I buy 5 or 6 loafs at a time and stick them in the freezer. Mason is a down to earth guy. 👍
Golden Circle bread is still around?
Hey
white bread sugar

He looks like a young Barry Manilow.
