    No need to get rid of the ITB's, just need to replace the foam filter with an air box & then feed it into an enclosed air filter like an ITG STAB99. Make sure the airbox is as big as possible & you will very likely gain some power, the small ones often loose power. Reverie would be a good place to look.

    Yes I’ve had a Pracworks. One of the first in the UK.
    Sounds incredible. Build quality is amazing. 100% upgrade over ITBs makes good power as well. Run with a 74mm throttle body. They will take many throttle body applications. The inlet has a 74mm opening. I ran mine on both k20 and k24. Made over 265hp peak na with standard bottom ends.

    There´s plenty of people nowadays who make custom airboxes - just get one that fits over the ITBs and has a filtermat in front, should fix your problems and stay low maintenance, so you can swap it out if you want to ;)

    11:24 yep that drives me nuts with Donington. My first time there I had an official sprinting the whole length of the paddock to tell me to push my car to scrutineering (7:30am) rather than creeping along at idle as I had been doing. I told him I couldn't hear him because of the f*cking great airplane coming into land right above us. Not to mention all the gentleman drivers for Britcar arriving in their various Ferrari, Lamborghinis and Aston road cars at the time making ten times the noise I was.

  • @zeshin4331
    @zeshin4331 8 месяцев назад +1

    Seems like a really nicely built car! I had issues with my TWM/Borla ITB setup related to the design of the linkage and the TPS sensor jumping values at idle and on/off throttle. I think ditching the ITB's and going with a really nice single throttle setup is definitely the way to go.
    Hope you solved the ignition issue. While you are in there, you guys should check the engine harness side coil pack connectors, or rather simply replace them. They get brittle and crack with age, creating a poor connection to the coil pack pins that can cause all sorts of random ignition break up. I've had it happen on two F20C/F22C engines.

    • @driftworks
      @driftworks  8 месяцев назад +1

      Good to know. I definitely don't have a huge amount of faith that the ITBs and TPS are doing the same thing every time as we pretty much had the idle tune completely sorted, then it would change seemingly randomly.
      We haven't solved the ignition issue. It just kind of unbroke itself which is almost more annoying.

    • @zeshin4331
      @zeshin4331 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@driftworks That's exactly the issue I kept having with the same setup. Sync'd all the throttle plates, checked all the joints, replaced the TPS, tried different return spring setups, and messed with the calibration in the AEM ECU, but unfortunately never got it really sorted out before I gave up on the TWM ITB's. Loved the sound, but was too annoyed with all the little issues I kept having with this specific application.

    Be aware the rubber pieces on the end of the coil packs break off and will get stuck over the spark plug. Extremely difficult to remove and the spark plug tubes are not removable either. I had a code come up for what is normally timing chain. Car drove fine but would cut out randomly when eml came on. Start the car and drove fine. Every said timing chain but after some research and investigating myself I found it to be the coil pack. Replaced it last Xmas and not had a single issue since

    Ran itbs on V6's for years luv them to bits, a good set of Headers, straight through exhaust, stand alone ecu and it's a great upgrade and a nice gain in tourqe & hp especially feeding them cold air from outside.... But sound deadening them is gutting, I got away with it on track days myself but once you start boxing them in that's gonna change air flow and upset the balance, then I guess you start asking yourself is there any point if your gonna get punished for sound....... Great vid, gutted for you with rules & regs, that really takes the shine off it....... Apart from making a undertray that's tight, some sort of sealed bonnet at the edges that's gonna be a tricky one to keep quiet, air filter socks will help but its gonna affect performance..... 😢 Good luck guys I hope u figure something out 👍

    Those pracworks intakes appear to be hit and miss it would seem. Ive seen 3 setups so far of people using them on K-Series engines...and they've all made less power than a standard style intake manifold across the whole powerband. Im sure its worked for some setups though.
