But bruh ur grass still look good on camera. If you considered that a green hit you definately dont wanna c mine😀😀. I just took mine from 1 and 1/4" to 1/2inch.
I’m in Indonesia, it’s November, this time of the year the sun is right in top of us. So hot but also lots of rain. I did Green hit last week. 1” cut.
And I irrigate my lawn daily to bring the green back now.
One question i want to ask is, can i apply spoon feeding (low dose) Nitrogen to it while it recover to fasten the process? Or should i wait until it back to fully green again?
Great video. One time I took a green hit by mistake. Was a mistake I'm glad I made.
You’re the man BYD! Keep the good content coming 👍🏼
InDatParish Thanks Parish 👍🏾
LAWN LOOKS GREAT!!
You inspire me everyday your a living legend 🐐
Caden cain Thanks Caden 👍🏾
I just did this on my zoysia. Took it from 3.25" to 2". It looks horrible. It's been about a week and is slowly recovering. Hoping to thicken up the lawn.
I’m having a green hit right now- thanks for the encouragement.
BYD in the house , Those Bermuda grass got me wanting to change my grass type. Looking on point BYD.
Jon Hawkins Thanks John 👊🏾
I had St A but now bermuda is taking over and I am glad as I love how bermuda looks padded green like a golf field. My question is the bermuda that grows naturally is it the hybrid or common kind?
Are you the only one cutting you lawn or lawn care service?
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral Only me.
@@arielrodriguez6980 not sure 🤔 how it’s getting in you lawn but if you don’t cut BermudaGrass with that mower it’s wild common.
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral I had st A and I think it got TARR and bermuda is filling in the bare areas which I like since I am mowing low to beat any St A that is left. That is why I wonder what kind of bermuda it is.
Beautiful neighborhood where is this at?
Byd your grass still looks great 👍
Yes I would take a green hit for the team. Your yard is looking good. Thanks for your advice and tips they seems to work well for my yard. Keep up the videos please. Thanks.

Funny i just cut my lawn at 2in from 3in this Saturday. And it was ugly brown. By Monday its greening up. I also put some liquid fert down Sunday to push it. I will cut it again this Saturday at 2in again and then the following week cut a 1.5in until the end of August. I live in south florida so come Sept i will raise it back up to 2in and come Oct I bring it up to 3in for are warm dry winter. Like the name TAKE A GREEN HIT!!!
That spurge has taken over my flower bed. I didn't know what it was called. Thanks BYD
konfidential1911 yeah that spurgevis a baby 👶 monster 👍🏾
Great minds think alike. I took a green hit today. Going to push it for a week. I went from 1.5 to 1.25
Czr S my front went from 1.5 to 1 inch.
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral 110° at least all week. Grass is going to love it.
BYD thanks for that Green Hit knowledge
STI SC no problem 👍🏾
The front look amazing. I see what your trying to do with the back yard. It will eventually catch up to the front yard. I have common Bermuda also.
100 / The information you given out is priceless but those of us that they care about yard keep doing what you doing we're listening. But I have a quick question again put down weed control before the pre-emergent.
James Ben Israel Pre M is a fall and early spring app. If you had to do both then do separate, follow directions and water 💦 in based on weed control applications rate if doing the same day.
Luv byd
Lookin good bro! I recently moved so I now have new sod that is a little over a month old. Doing pretty good but you can tell it’s young. I’m mowing at 3 inches until we get closer to the end of summer then I’ll drop down to 2 inches. I’m in Dallas Tx and it’s brutally hot out here!
Dietrick McKinney yeah I’ve heard about that Texas heat 🔥
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral it ain't no joke! We had plenty of rain in the spring and yards were looking nice and green. Now no rain and 98 to 100 daily. Time to water!
Thanks BYD!
Grow the show!!
I'm in Grand Prairie, Tx I'm considering a low cut to boost my Bermuda.
I have a customer that takes the green hit every time I cut for her. Insists on a low cut but only wants it cut every 2 wks. So every time I go by I scalp it for her. She states I don’t care about green at all. I said you’re the customer, I will do as you wish

BYD how do you feel about Mohawk Bermuda? Budget friendly at Lowe’s, doing a Reno and calculating $$. On sale 15lb bag for cheap.
Girder Boys Nation sometimes you get what you pay 💰 for, cheap seeds may germinate but you have to put the work in to make sure 🙏🏾
I planted rye grass in a low spot I filled in with dirt last fall. It looked awesome until the heat hit dallas and now it’s all dead. Last week I scalped it down to 1/2”, Dethatched the area and over seeded. I water everyday and hoping it will fill in soon. Any other suggestions? Thx
opichocal just keep doing what your doing, next season will be better for those spots. As you know that rye grass can do so damage 👍🏾
Dallas?
What type of common Bermuda grass did you use brother
Xavier Gaston Scott’s
Does cutting Zoysia low accomplish the same spreading as Bermuda
Larry Clausen Zoysia doesn’t look 👀 good at all when you scalp and it take longer to recover. If it needs to be done I’d take bits off at a time a bag if possible. I have one Zoysia lawn on my route that was at 3 for the summer drought, rain picked up at the owner wanted it lower. It wasn’t pretty is all I’m gonna say😀
Will keeping it lower help the zoysia stolons to spread. I’m stripping in zoysia and trying to help it spread
Larry Clausen Zoysia only spreads by rhizomes, the underground runners, not Stolons. Taller grass actually stripes better than really short grass, but short grass has a more like golf 🏌️ look 👀 than taller grass.
No
Zoyzia takes forever to come back
How do I know if I have zoysia or Bermuda
1. Ask neighbors, they may have similar grass type.
2. Cut out a section and take to a local nursery that’s sells sod.
3. Take a little cutout to you local extension office if you have one.
Hey byd, there's a fert called fortify phosphorus free lawn, 21-0-7, its says controlled nitro release. Is that equivalent to organic? Does phos free mean organic?
No, if it’s not label organic it’s not going to be considered organic. 90 percent of ferts sold in big box 📦 don’t have phosphorus. 👍🏾
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral ok, I was under impression that any slow or controlled release was synom with organic, thanks bruh
I sadly had to - well, wanted to- lower my Bermuda grass height & took the green hit. I was at 3 1/2”, went to 2”; part of my lawn is St.Augustine & that’s why 3 1/2”, because I was sick of adjusting my mower height just kept both grasses the same height. Being Lazy & paying the price! I’m in N.Texas and we have 5-6 days with no rain in the forecast this week. After I took the hit I have been watering each morning, 7-8 min per zone(been only 2 days). But would like to speed the process to get some green showing again. What fertilizer would you recommend?
Any fertilizer will help but it will just take time. Keep her mowed at the reset height until she feels back in green ( 2-3 weeks )
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral ok! I had picked up my Winter fertilizer preparing for Fall application & it’s all I have. Planning on mowing every 2-3 days & I still have Sept & Oct for growing time. 🤞🏻My backyard is already filling in! My house sits facing North so that area gets constant sunlight. Thanks for your informational videos, they are what gave me courage to do this! I’m now taking on this challenge & hoping to see a yard like yours! Well, at least for Spring next year!
you should check out GCI lawn and grass he supposedly has the best grass seed on the market
I noticed your last 2 videos I'm seeing Doc's (PFG commercial) as the advertisement half way through your video.
Do you have an opinion on his/Andersons product?
Ray Flores never used Anderson Products, as a matter of fact I haven’t watched a Doc video in 2 months so I’d can’t really say to much about his channel 🤷🏾♂️
The green hit works guys! Just a little patience & regular maintenance is all you need 👍🏽
Green hit whow...
Hi. Your should take a little competition between your self and your Son to see half of your lawn who make it better....like your video.
