    I’m in Indonesia, it’s November, this time of the year the sun is right in top of us. So hot but also lots of rain. I did Green hit last week. 1” cut.
    And I irrigate my lawn daily to bring the green back now.
    One question i want to ask is, can i apply spoon feeding (low dose) Nitrogen to it while it recover to fasten the process? Or should i wait until it back to fully green again?

I will cut it again this Saturday at 2in again and then the following week cut a 1.5in until the end of August. I live in south florida so come Sept i will raise it back up to 2in and come Oct I bring it up to 3in for are warm dry winter. Like the name TAKE A GREEN HIT!!!

    Does cutting Zoysia low accomplish the same spreading as Bermuda

    • @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral
      @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral  5 лет назад

      Larry Clausen Zoysia doesn’t look 👀 good at all when you scalp and it take longer to recover. If it needs to be done I’d take bits off at a time a bag if possible. I have one Zoysia lawn on my route that was at 3 for the summer drought, rain picked up at the owner wanted it lower. It wasn’t pretty is all I’m gonna say😀

    • @larryclausen8907
      @larryclausen8907 5 лет назад +2

      Will keeping it lower help the zoysia stolons to spread. I’m stripping in zoysia and trying to help it spread

    • @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral
      @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral  5 лет назад +2

      Larry Clausen Zoysia only spreads by rhizomes, the underground runners, not Stolons. Taller grass actually stripes better than really short grass, but short grass has a more like golf 🏌️ look 👀 than taller grass.

    • @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral

      1. Ask neighbors, they may have similar grass type.
      2. Cut out a section and take to a local nursery that’s sells sod.
      3. Take a little cutout to you local extension office if you have one.

    Hey byd, there's a fert called fortify phosphorus free lawn, 21-0-7, its says controlled nitro release. Is that equivalent to organic? Does phos free mean organic?

    • @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral
      @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral  5 лет назад +1

    I sadly had to - well, wanted to- lower my Bermuda grass height & took the green hit. I was at 3 1/2”, went to 2”; part of my lawn is St.Augustine & that’s why 3 1/2”, because I was sick of adjusting my mower height just kept both grasses the same height. Being Lazy & paying the price! I’m in N.Texas and we have 5-6 days with no rain in the forecast this week. After I took the hit I have been watering each morning, 7-8 min per zone(been only 2 days). But would like to speed the process to get some green showing again. What fertilizer would you recommend?

    • @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral
      @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral  3 года назад +2

      Any fertilizer will help but it will just take time. Keep her mowed at the reset height until she feels back in green ( 2-3 weeks )

Thanks for your informational videos, they are what gave me courage to do this! I’m now taking on this challenge & hoping to see a yard like yours! Well, at least for Spring next year!
