Really cool finds Aaron, the variety of fossils you find up your way is awesome, it’s great you got someone so knowledgeable to look at your stuff and offer their opinions too, I found what I thought was possibly a fossilized bison horn a few years ago but I I’m not sure what it is, I don’t know much about fossils, wish I had someone to tell me what it is, congratulations on all the cool finds, thanks for sharing, God Bless & GL&HH!!👊🏹
Thanks Bucky! Yes, I do come across some really unexpected fossils from time to time. I never knew we had such variety in Oklahoma until I started hunting arrowheads. Donnie and Leland have both been great mentors and they've gone out of their way to help me learn. I'm very fortunate but sometimes it's overwhelming (in a good way). My little pea brain can only hold so much, haha
@@meandmyshadow6269 I’ve been thinking about asking Leland to look at some artifacts of mine on my videos and get his opinion, I heard he’s the man to ask!!
@@thegeorgiacreekwalker491 I can tell you this, Leland is definitely the man to ask and he loooooves seeing what people have. I'll put in a word for you.
I appreciate you saying so. I hope to do more of these with Donnie and Leland in the future. Sorry it took me so long to reply to this comment! I fell behind
Since grandmothers were brought up i was living with mine she had already raised 13 kids and i was watching her make some gravy i noticed that the big silver spoon had one side worn to a flat edge and i asked she told me that it was worn down by her from stirring countless times various food items in cast iron pans .it doesnt seem like much at first but can you imagine wearing down a spoon over a lifetime of use.
Very interesting food for thought! (sorry for the pun.) But yes, very fascinating the way tools and objects take on wear. A good thing to keep in mind. Thank you!
Could sit here for hours watchin you guy's talk. Of course that's all I do. Great video Aaron. You are truly blessed to have such a friend. Thanks for sharing the conversation and artifacts brother. Many blessings.
Donnie and Leland both have been a big blessing in my life and I can't quite wrap my head around how fortunate I am to have stumbled into my friendship with them both. Unfortunately, Leland was unable to join for this video but he'll be back in the next one

@@DiggingScience If you go back a few videos from this year in my video list you can see the video where I found it. Video is called "Arrowhead Hunting: MEGA Fossil? (2024)" Skip to about the 5:25 mark. Got some pretty good clear footage of it. I don't have a website or social media so that video is the only thing I can refer you to. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
@meandmyshadow6269 thanks for pointing me to that. I can tell you it's not Megalodon. The root texture and dimensions are wrong. However, it does look like it is a portion of an edestus or whorl shark tooth. IDs are always hard over video. But, that is what I think, cool find regardless 😎
@@DiggingScience a few other people mentioned edestus to me as well. Thank you for taking the time! I checked out your channel and it looks like you get to handle and study these things a lot. Appreciate the input. Subbed your channel!
I am wondering if that first tool might be a fletching tool lay it on the shaft with the feather inserted wrap a few wraps and slide the tool out pinningg down the quill and the other end like you said for touching up points .
I would have called it fossil ivory and thought it would be great to make jewelry but it looks fosslised to me there fore something that could be polished for jewelry
