Sorry to say but this review does not do justice to the port. With the 3.6 version that was recently released (after this review), there have been several graphical improvements. The biggest thing though is that a game this size along with all additional content is squeezed in so beautifully in a handheld console, that’s just amazing.
In what way does someone giving it an 8 hinder your enjoyment on it...? I give it a 2/10. Does that at all impact your sense of fun while playing? Do you require everyone to like something to the same capacity as you...?
Seemed quite negative for an 8 out of 10. It's certainly impressive for the Switch but having sunk around 650 hours into the PS4 original I'd not recommend it unless you've never experienced it before. Should the Switch be the only available option, however, then it's an essential game with some of the best writing, characters, design and mission variety of all time. Hmmm, now I have an urge to revisit it again. It's stuffed unicorn time ...

Ive been having a blast and could not care less for the visual downgrades, theres more than Graphics to make a game.
You know, I agree with the score... only because I love TW3 and respect CDPR's work; however, given the context of the reviewer's opinions, I don't think the score reflects the reviewer's opinions at all. It's quite jarring to see that the review ends with a less-than-positive conclusion yet the score is 8/10. I really don't think the score reflects the content of this review very well at all.

Nintendo needs to release a Switcher 3 Joy-Con edition. Just in honor of this port, instabuy.
Honestly one of the best portable handheld game available, the best one with an compelling story.
Hopefully Rockstar is looking from their casino, the Switch deserves a proper GTA.
gerald for smash
Its crazy to even have this portalable
Patch 3.6 is amazing... Now switcher looks beautiful
The downgrade in graphics for the witcher 3 on the switch isn't that bad. I'm just thankful I can play this amazing story game wherever I go now. Such an amazing game.
It isn't that bad in portable mode but the moment you play on tv it looks absolutely horrible. You can tell they designed this Soly for portable.
@@danielorourke2542 it doesn't look that bad in tv mode though
@@coughodemon8592 Yes it does. It has original Xbox graphics
@@danielorourke2542 it truly doesn't look that bad though I played the game in docked mode for half the time and thought it looked great. Yes, the game does look a bit blurry but it's simple to look past. For graphics, it definitely is a downgrade but for everything else, it's basically the same.
@@coughodemon8592 Yes everything else is the same but those graphics aren't even Ps3 graphics.
The (s)Witcher 3 complete edition, fully playable and enjoyable on Switch, with decent graphics. Unless you bring your PS4 pro and your 4K TV with you in cars/planes/holidays/WC/office/etcetc., buy the game already, it's a masterpiece. Kudos to Nintendo and CDPR to make this game possible on Switch!
What a loser.
@@larslopez6073 How?
Many complain about the graphic and quality downgrade and compare it against the PS4 and Xbox version. You can't really compare the switch version to a full console version. How about we compare the Witcher 3 switch version handheld to the PS4 handheld version? oh wait, they don't have a handheld version to compare. I do own the PS4 pro and got this on PS4 but this is impressive port for the switch.
Impressive regardless. A game that has tremendous graphics is now in the palm of your hands.
I actually showed one of my co-workers Witcher 3 in portable mode. Let's just say his undies turned brown with astonishment.
What's that? A hand held system dosent have amazing eye popping graphics? Color me shocked
The most imported is it in Polish?
Will buy it since I only play in handheld mode anyway lol
Where can I get those thumb grips?
When i try to select a character to fight I try pressing (r) but it still doesn’t do anything ?
Sorry to say but this review does not do justice to the port. With the 3.6 version that was recently released (after this review), there have been several graphical improvements. The biggest thing though is that a game this size along with all additional content is squeezed in so beautifully in a handheld console, that’s just amazing.
Is there any way to get this game for free on switch
I really dont get it, whats the differents between the wii u and the switch? Just old game ports :(
Juan Solis the wii u wouldve never been able to run witcher 3
@@MegaC3600 thats not what i meant, i mean is that the switch is doing the same thing the wii u did, old games, full retail
Why the hate I mean the points is really fair.
Thank you
The points are too generous.
I only play my switch in handheld mode so for me this has been great especially cause I'm going on a plane tommrow
Agree,
I usually travel 10 hours every week.
This is a NEED
Me too. The whole selling point for the switch at least for me was playing all these console quality games on the go.
8 out of 10? Blasphemy.
They’ve squeezed the greatest game ever on the switch IGN you heathens and you only give it an 8!
In what way does someone giving it an 8 hinder your enjoyment on it...?
I give it a 2/10.
Does that at all impact your sense of fun while playing? Do you require everyone to like something to the same capacity as you...?
Guess someone just want to praise Geraldo.
Well its the lesser experience if compared to the other consoles or pc that can output witcher 3 with better graphics and fps.
Lol Sora keyboard warrior! So sorry for voicing my opinion!
But does it make me feel like a witcher on the go?
Well Witcher 3 is out on Switch with raving review . Just hope CDPR takes note and brings us Witcher 1 and 2 on Switch !!!
Witcher 1 is a pc exclusive I think, i dont think that'll come to consoles period. But I agree with witcher 2!
Honestly, this may be because it’s my first time ever playing this game, but docked play doesn’t seem that bad
RMMachinimas that probably has something to do with it. I’ve played on PC and PS4 so you can probably see the difference in quality if you’ve played on another platform.
All things considered, even docked mode is impressive considering the hardware limitations. Obviously it's looked better, but the graphics aren't bad by any means. I hate how this review makes it sound unplayable in docked mode
Really makes you feel like a Witcher
Just preordered this game yesterday. Now all I need now is to have a free schedule to come and get it
Ive been playing on my tv for 5 hours today, do not have access to PS4/Xone or PC, Switch with its hybrid nature is my go to for everything.
While it is of course of lesser quality than it could be on any other platforms, its still far from looking awful on its own and is very playable. Ive been having a blast and could not care less for the visual downgrades, theres more than Graphics to make a game.
Paskal Noiseux yeah, reviews said doom looked awful on tv on the switch but I found it fine. Witcher 3 should be similar
Now I gotta have the Batman Arkham Trilogy (or 1&2) 😁
No
I've been waiting for it since forever
Why there is a lot random smoke on switch version ?
You know, I agree with the score... only because I love TW3 and respect CDPR's work; however, given the context of the reviewer's opinions, I don't think the score reflects the reviewer's opinions at all. It's quite jarring to see that the review ends with a less-than-positive conclusion yet the score is 8/10. I really don't think the score reflects the content of this review very well at all.
YOOOOO Witcher 3 on the Switch got that N64 Fog in the background LMAOOOO
The fact that we can now make PSP-esque devices that can run games like this
Where did you get the thumb pads from?
I was just waiting for the HEEEYYYOOOO HEEEYYYOOOO part of the background theme.
I can understand. So i bought a switch mini on witcher 3 release date and straight away bought thw game kept it for download. That insane opening sequence made my day. Now cant wait to let 500 hours of my life staring at the incredible switch mini
Should be a 10 now, the new update is awesome
ILFPPAF _ with that 3.6 update this review and most others are outdated and irrelevant.
So is this a review or a comparison?
So basically only get it for the portability lol.
Yeah, pretty much.
Why else would you buy it? Lol
Don’t suppose progress is cross play at all as have the complete edition on Xbox already?
Name of the song of the video
How do you like that silver?
Switch lite, and Witcher 3 best playable in handheld mode. Nintendo trolling us? Loving this game.
It’s so much better now with the new update
sold my ps4 disk version to get a nintendo version. Sure graphic is a meh but the fact that It run smoothly on-the-go is amazing. I've never been able to finish this game on ps4.
I play this ultra on my gtx 1070 but yeah still bought this for handheld experience on the plane
Its a masterpiece running on a mobile chip. And capcom said resident evil 7 will not run on it
It barely can’t
@@Farzad117 barely how?
I ask myself how they made a 150hours open world RPG playable on a Switch.
*It's should be a 9 come on.... CDPR and W3 are doing the best they can with what they have... Switch is not Ps4 or PC by a big margin ... Now you can resent the statement or accept it... The most demanding game on switch is what Zelda:BOTW (correct me if I am wrong) which for all its graphical extent have a artstyle that helps a lot to run it on something like a switch... But to bring W3 to switch you can't just look at a direct comparison to PC and switch and say... Graphics are bad.... They are not bad they are just what they can be given the limits that they have*
Wrong, this version is so bad it shouln't even exist.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is more demanding.
>runs in 720p docked
>captured in 1080p
???????
I already picked it up for Ps4 and Xbox one. Although it’s my favourite game of all time, I can’t really justify the $79.99 for it.
Theres an optional day one patch that improves the game a lot, its around 3gb.
The fact that Witcher 3 could run on the switch while kingdom hearts a game that is 20 years older than this can't run on the switch baffles me
Got it day one since they put everything on a 32 gb cartridge with no download
and no microtransaxtions!
Your Sad! Go Buy a Ps4
007 ! That’s a waste of money I’ll never support Sony after what they have been doing
