That 337 is ALSO a newsstand copy which is also cool. Nice to see you doing a "guys day out" with the boys. Great pick-ups as always !!! pretty WICKED lol
Jealous! Looks like a good time out with the kids! Love Adam Hughes and Joe Jusko- all of the artists you spoke with seemed down to earth- wish that older crew was making comics today- I have to escape into the past with comics as the current stuff with the big 2 is lacking IMHO.
Beta ray Bill was one of the best characters to come out of the 80s i picked up a 337 newstand in a dollar bin about a year ago along with a 338,339& 341 it was a super great day that hunt made up for a dozen of the crappy ones . Joe juskos Savage sword of conan covers are some of the best conan covers love that dude.
Klaus Janson and Joe Jusko at the same convention, awesome concentration of artistic talent! That 2010 run of Zatanna features beautiful art and knockout covers (with values to match, especially for the hard-to-find Brian Bolland variants). Daredevil #3 is the highlight for me, particularly at that great price. And it's great to see the kids happy at the end of the day.
Fun time! I like your collection goal of getting all the signatures on that X-Men book. Speaking of X-Men you need to pick up some more and reach your quota! 😉
The best part of this video was watching. You have a great day with your son and nephew. It’s the best when I get to go to an LCS with my son. In fact, we went to two LCS‘s this past weekend for free comic book day. My son has been looking forward to this day for months. We just so happen to be in two different towns over the weekend where we like to shop and both of them let us have comics. each of those books will be finally remembered for that alone.
That's crazy you got Beta Ray Bill's 1st appearance in a nice high grade for that much money. Sounds like you made some really good deals and even the kids got some good grabs.
It would be easy for me to say that X-Men 11 is my favorite, since I myself own that book and love it. But that Daredevil is amazing! Great grab, especially bundled with that Shazam. Looks like you fellas had an awesome time!
Great video. It's always awesome to meet the artist behind the comic books. I like the story about Shazam. I recently bought a few Mighty Midget Comics from the early 1940's published by Fawcett. Always great that you can share what you love with your kids. Keep hunting.
Hi Mike, wow, you met Joe Jusko. What a legend!! I still remember when my dad bought me a whole box of Marvel Masterpieces in 1992 so that I had the whole set. I instantly fell in love with his artwork, so did my dad. Some time later I bought him a set of Juskos Tarzan trading cards. My dad passed away three years ago but videos like yours bring back sweet memories. Thanks so much for this.
I’m a Burroughs collector as well as comics. I have a bunch of those Tarzan cards and they’re great! I need only one issue to complete the DC Tarzan run. I’ll probably try get as many of the Gold Key and Dell issues as I can. They’re not terribly expensive, but they’re hard to find. Love that Shazam 1. Captain Marvel may have been the first comic book superhero to appear in film 1940 or 1941.
Nice pick-ups Lmc. I guess I'm a comic snob because I only buy graded books but in my defense I only wanted to fill a wall in my room😂. At least compared to my BRB cover and Shazam#1 you did very good. I spent $100 on a 9.0 Shazam and $200 on a 9.6 BRB 1st👍.
Some amazing books as always! I love the X Men 11. I just recently bought a really, really beat up copy of Alpha Flight 51, the first Jim Lee art work. I hope one day he's at a con in the UK so I can get him to sign it. 🤞
I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. There is a great show there that is called Front Row Card Show. If you ever come to Vegas I would like to get the opportunity to meet you. The show is about every two months.
Looked like an amazing Con! Awesome comic pickups as well! And always fun to meet the artists and creators of our favorite books. Marvel Masterpiece cards were my favorite too. Marvel cards also got me into the love for the characters and stories. Keep up the great work bud! 👍👍
I remember when Thor 337 came out on the newsstand. I loved the cover so much l drove to any store that had comics to pick up extra copies. I ended up with 10 copies. It was l guess the first time l ever speculated on a book. Walt Simonson was new to me but pretty much picked up his cover art whenever it came out! Great find Mike!
None! I sold them awhile back with half of my collection before this book took off. Isn’t that how it usually goes? I learned these breathing exercises that really helps……..
Nice footage and haul. What caught my eye the most was the original art table! I’m curious who that was? Nice pickups on the Beta Ray Bill and Daredevil 3
That table with all the black and white art was a general dealer so they had art from lots of different people, but most of the artists there had their own originals and of course some prints to sign. It was very impressive and I wish I had more lunch money to dig into the original art scene. A friend of mine forked over some serious cash for an Adam Hughes original of Storm and it was gorgeous!
Nice you got to meet Jusko! I keep in my wallet a Domino and a Sleepwalker card, in protective sleeve of course, just in case too but that book is always nice to have especially for cards you can't find or get
Joe Jusko what a legend, his 1992 Marvel Masterpieces card set was amazing but the Edgar Rice Burroughs sets he did afterwards are probably my favourite card sets of all time.
I thought you were going to get those Zatanna books since they made some screen time. AH covers are pretty big as I'm sure you are aware, but can get up there in price.
Duuude, Shazam is awesome. a few days ago I found the first appearance of midnight sons in the wild, I have to say that I started to appreciate them watching your channel
Definitely love that X-Men #11 cover ever since I was a kid. But that Daredevil #3 has my heart. Awesome pick ups, especially the signatures from some iconic artists. Starting to get just a little jealous of the cool shows you get to go to my friend. Awesome video as always, Mike!
Love that you get to share the hobby with your family. My 2.5 year old daughter has a lot of interest in my comic books so I decided to take her down to my LCS on Saturday and get her her first books and she was so excited. She's even had me read a couple of them to her so I'm hoping this is the start of something really great and maybe one day I will get to enjoy some Cons and bin digging with her. Also, as usual great pick ups from everyone 🔥
Lol I mean yeah that’s true, but the kids were actually joking around on that one. They knew immediately it was fake and were tying to psych me out. Darn kids.
Some of the best RUclips content out there for comics. You can tell how much passion you have for it. Love the way you’re always trying to help the youth of collecting and do things for the young ones.
Good Evening Michael The leader in the fun factor !.Look at those smiles on the boys faces, The future of comics is safe, Great footage also, it was great to see Klaus Janson. Why not ask him on for a little chat. I am sure he wouldn't mind. Getting close to 6000 subscribers, so a major player now. great to see you bagging the comics you want, And really if it is in the budget, then fine. These are key issues and will never go down!. Keep the fun coming! Cheers from Thegoldkeyfourcolorkidownunda
Hey thanks for the compliments! I actually did have a quick conversation with Klaus I just didn’t film it. We talked about Daredevil a little bit. Also a very nice man.
Great video! Love the Jusko book you got signed. My LCS runs this show (Merry Macs in Merrimack NH), and they've announced they're bringing the show back to the Seaport district next year, like they had the year prior to this. I guess the cost for Hynes was was steep. Personally I was a little bummed by the news but I understand this needs to be a successful business endeavor for them at the end of the day. I found the Seaport location a bit cramped haha. After the Concord show, Wicked was more a creator-meeting con for me; I do wonder if big spenders in Concord maybe dampened turnout for them being only a week after that and near April school vacations. I felt it was busy but I guess they were expecting more foot traffic. Curious as to your thoughts!
I heard the same from several vendors, this one was expensive for vendors and tough for people to get into the city, let alone ticket costs, parking costs, etc. and yes there might have also been some fatigue for some who went to both. But at least Wicked had a different feel and there were more comic collaborators there to meet so I know for some people this show was can’t miss.
I got to meet Jusko several years back and had him sign a spidey print. Still hanging on my wall. I love your idea of writing the date and convention on the back of the board for signatures . Will start doing this ;) I love the X-men #11 cover as it’s the first book that got me into reading X-men because I was so drawn to the cover art.
Joe Jusko was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met, I’m so happy I caught most of our conversation on camera. He was just really approachable and appreciative to his fans, an awesome experience.
He was absolutely awesome. A lot of times I feel bad filming when I’m talking with someone but he didn’t mind and I was able to capture most of our conversation. Just super approachable and appreciative of his fans and it was an experience I’ll never forget!
Nice! I have that Shazam book, too! I also just picked up DD 5 and 6, Mike, working on that DD collection, too! So, how much do the artists charge for their signatures? I'm going to a show in late June and there are several artists that will be there.
It depends. At the concord show I was prepared to buy one big book up to $400 (I spent more) but this show I set a much lower limit due to the fact I spent so much the week before. I guess it always changes but I think a safe assumption is I aim for $100 and and willing to go a little more im for some great deals. But I’m low on lunch money now, so back to flea markets!
What a great feeling it must be to watch your boys dig through some long boxes..I'm looking forward to when I can take my daughters. Great pickups my friend!
Your Heroes for Hope mission is just genius.
That 337 is ALSO a newsstand copy which is also cool. Nice to see you doing a "guys day out" with the boys. Great pick-ups as always !!! pretty WICKED lol
Shazam is a cool pickup. One of my favorites.

Always loved his painted covers, from his Kirby tributes to Silver Surfer #4. 😊

Beta Ray Bill is totally awesome! What a great cover.
That X-Men 11 is an iconic Jim Lee cover. Nice gets!
Beta Ray Bill is one of my favorite characters. I love Walt Simonson's run on Thor - Beta Ray Bill, Frog Thor, etc. Great pick up for fifty bucks!
This brings me back to my early con days when I got books signed unwitnessed! I love meeting the creators who write and draw my favorite comics!
Christian couldn’t wait to see this! Thanks for taking him! 😊
I hope he had a great time! Always fun to head into the city regardless!
@@lunchmoneycomics You're a good God Dad, a great memory for him!

SHAZAM! Great comics to bring back home! You, like me are working on silver age DD so, your Daredevil #3 was your best grab of the day!!
Great wicked comic con video.😀👍
Love that Joe Jusko signed Moon Knight. Some great finds.
Glad you and the boys enjoyed the con. Great pick-up on that Shazam 1. The white on that cover was gleaming for a 50yo raw book.
Nice pick up with the Thor 337 Newsstand. Nowadays I like going hunting and finding Newsstand comics.
DD3! Sweet grab. Was a great show, found a lot of awesome stuff. Found a Marvel Premiere 1 in fantastic shape so i was happy.
Congrats on Daredevil 3. Awesome haul overall.
great job ❤keep em coming

Those Adam Hughes zatanna covers are so incredible
Agreed, I always want to pick those up but they are so pricey!
Thanks for another great video! Joe Jusko is such a great artist, glad you got your stuff signed. Nice pick ups as well!

AWESOME books you got!! I'm a Daredevil fan myself 😊

I thought you were going to get those Zatanna books since they made some screen time. AH covers are pretty big as I'm sure you are aware, but can get up there in price.

Yes the "give away" on the Action Comics 1 was that it was priced low, not that it was in a long box at a comic convention for sale.
