What will happen if I dont winterize my truckmount and it freezes and I dont run the machine and let it thaw out?

Thanks for your question. The crazy thing about water is that when it freezes it expands. Any component where water is present can be damaged when this happens leading to very costly repair bills. So, even if you do not operate your unit while frozen and let it "defrost" the damage may have already been done. If you have questions about this, or want us to go into more detail please private message us or contact me at: l.ortbahn@legendbrands.com

Hey man, you might get away with it for a winter or two, (or not) but it cost me $3,000 to replace my heat exchange bc pipes expanded & burst.

This is great information. A few more extra steps will save some other components from freezing. Turn the chemical to prime to get it into the flow meter, but also turn to "chemical" to get the antifreeze to the solution check valve. The recirculation hose must still be attached. Remove the recirculation hose. Before shutting the machine off, with the pressure pump still on, open the " bypass valve" for 5-10 seconds to winterize that part of the system. Cycle the pressure pump (at around 500 psi) on and off about 5 time to get antifreeze up to the pressure gauge. Antifreeze from priming the chemical system and opening the bypass valve will end up in your waste tank and should be disposed of properly. This information is brought to you by the Advantage Marketing Novi Michigan service department.
