People really hated you, didn't they, Vashj'ir? I don't get it. Instead of seeing a 3rd dimension as something cool, people rant about it being confusing. Jesus guys, instead of just going from A to B on your map you need to use your brain. Oh my gaw! Such a great and underrated zone. I really love levelling there and I stop with everything I have everytime one of my chars reaches 80 just to level here :)
I don't understand what people have against this zone. It's downright beautiful, mysterious and completely enjoyable. The music is spot on and serves as the perfect background adding to the overall atmosphere.
spatial awareness is hard. 2d is natural. we might have 3d capabilities but that's the tip top point of human understanding. Kinda like a vehicle, it can go 200mph but is it comfortable going 200? no, it's comfy range would prob be more like 160. You can see vertical awareness is less developed amongst Americans too, too many flat ground, not many tall buildings, even in houses, less vertical space usage because of available space.
This track embodies endlessness, the open sea, and how ominous it can be. I can only think of drowning in agony, alone, forever. This track honestly feels like hopelessness to me.
This is the track that convinced me to start playing again. Seriously, the composers outdid themselves with this expansion. I also love the new treatment they've given the older, vanilla tracks. Brilliantly composed and realized.
Sure the water may be inconvenient, but this place is the single most climatic zone ever. Howling Fjord is my close 2nd and Netherstorm/Shadowmoon tied for 3rd.
didnt even i was supposed to go to hyjal first, just went here and stayed a while. what captured me was this track on high base with the new fancy wowheadset. the zone became my fav
You are right about the track embodying endlessness, but the oboe solos and accompanying parts really are more about the struggle and hidden war that takes place in the sea.
I am a big fan of the manga 'One Piece' and when i read the chapter about going into the deep and towards fishmen island, I always had that soundtrack in my mind. It is awesome.
This song makes me feel like the ocean is the most powerful force in the world of azeroth. Kinda cool to think about deathwing getting pwned by endless tidal waves and huge sea creatures.
I think you just fall suddenly, like if you jump off the edge in Outlands. This is the one thing I haven't looked at in Vashj'ir. I made it my goal to discover every secret in the area. One time, my connection went out, and the fatigue meter froze up, so I managed to get VERY far out to sea before I disconnected, and I found some small plateau with a fucking enormous skeleton on it. As soon as I touched the area, I disconnected. Coincidentally, I have been too scared to go to the beach lately..
Not 3 hours after I posted my comment I actually found it myself, and neglected to mention so on here. It's far southwest of the little peninsula-type formation in the Abyssal Depths portion of Vashj'ir. I can see what you're talking about too. It's a couple of giant-ass skeletons with a glowy orb. I've actually gone down there with my shaman's Far Sight... creepiest shit ever. All around is just darkness.
I don't remember exactly where it was, but I want to say far West or far South. I'm pretty sure you can see some light coming from it from really far away.
I know this is two months old, but I am a skeptic nonetheless. Where exactly was this plateau? And to clarify, did you start in Vashj'ir when your connection was lost?
To this day, I believe this to be the most intimidating music in WoW. It sends shivers down my spine each time.
I love this place, it has a fantastic atmosphere. (although a little scary) And the music really matches to it.
I liked the water because it was like a giant bathub or pool and underwater caves were even better.
This zone drops you in the deep end...LITERALLY! The intro and early quest chains had me quaking in my chainmail boots.

I love this area. And i spend sometime there, doing nothing special. It's a beautiful new, but forgotten world.

The reign of OLD GODS. I love this unique feeling Blizzard gave to everything related to these creatures!

The early quests around Seafarer's Tomb had me on the edge of my seat!

My favorite part of this starts at 3:05

This melody is ridiculously good
The best expansion soundtrack of WoW that in quality surpasses the original score. Well done.

Great...
huh, from me it was always the exploration into that vast beautiful unknown
Vashk'ir made me realize I have a phobia for giant sea creatures. I could never bring myself to get close to those whalesharks.
this song it's in my mind all the day after leving in vashjír
read the short story Dagon by H.P. Lovecraft while listening to this song
