It sure isn’t, I got mine in .300WM. Shot 8 different brands and 3 bullet weights, can’t get it to group sup 1.5” at 100yds. That is the only thing I can think of to affect the shooting.
My old Howas in 300 winchester have single stage triggers. One is a wooden stock and the other has a composite stock sighted in at 300 yards. I have had these triggers slicked, and the pull taken down to 3 lbs by my gunsmith as being the only thing that perturbed me. After 50 rounds, these rifles started stacking shots into a single jagged hole everytime I let those barrels cool off for fifteen minutes.! This gives these skinny barreled guns time to retract from the heat. I don't know much about breaking in a barrel, but I would just clean it after each range session. I am a firm believer in the Weatherby Vanguards and the Howa model 1500s. Both are made in the same place, and they are also very accurate after they have about 50-60 rounds. My Howa 243 doesn't care if it's a Remington or winchester 100 grain softpoint cause it has the smallest group I have ever made at 100 yards, and I have a buddy that couldn't believe it himself. It's still on my wall in a picture frame. It's a hole the size of a bĺackeyed pea. This one is a one in a million, but it is the newer version with the HACT trigger. I made a mistake with my 300s, after proofreading, both of these rifles are Weatherby Vanguards.
@@SouthernOutfitter well, can’t blame you for that. I’m boringly practical. I hunt mainly woods, and the flattest cartridges I’ve ever had any use for are the .243 and .270.
@@SouthernOutfitter I’m in SE MN. Our state allows rifles up north, but slug guns in the south. There is currently pending legislation in state Congress to open up the entire state to rifles. If that happens, I’ll be in the market for a fast-stepping 6.5 or maybe a .257 Weatherby.
I would like one of these !
My 30-06 is on order, looking forward to picking it up.
How does it feel? How many rounds at the range can you fire before the barrel gets hot
I have one in 7mm Remington mag. It's incredibly accurate.
Whew that bolt machining looks rough
It’s not free floated (3:14), the barrel has pressure on the front edge of the forestock.

Knock of the f##king music, if you want to do Music Videos, go do that
What kind of scope rings are mounted on that rifle?
Those are Talley rings. In my mind, they are the best rings on the market. - DK
Can you give a part number for the Talley smoked bronze rings? I was unable to find them. Thanks
@@clarkch1go to valleys website. They have them on there. Sportsman’s doesn’t carry them for this tifle
We’re can I get the same scope rings you got to match the color of the rifle?
Talley rings. Check out their website.

what rings do you have installed? Are they Mid height?
his The Weatherby MeatEater .243 a better rifle or his there a better one
6 shots then 20 minutes to cool down! 😂😂😂
It’s a hunting rifle so I hope you don’t need more shots than that. Lol
Shot, my .300WM it’s like 2 than the third gets thrown
The Vanguard is almost as nice as the Rockwell Retro Encabulator
Minus the Marzzelvanes. - DK
Very nice I want one in 6.5 300 does it come with matching scope rings???
Do you really want 6.5-300? Really?…Talk about a barrel burner.
@@leifhoklin2681 yessir I do always wanted one.

@@leifhoklin2681 haha so do I I have both those calibers and they are great here in Alabama!

Love the gun. My son want the 300 Win. Mag. But he is not in love with the gold color of the ceracoat. It would look better with a grey color.
Get a vanguard talon. That one is tungsten cerakote. Like a silver gray like color. With a peak44 carbon stock. Your son will love that rig
I believe they have the meateater version for the same price in a few calibers. Check it out.
I picked up one of these because i really wanted a 257 weatherby magnum.
How much does that stuff run a box?
@@dustinpomeroy8817 anywhere from 62 to 110 for a box of 20
Just order mine in 300 win, matched with a vortex viper scope. So stoked!!
How does yours shoot? Mine shoots like crap, can’t get less than 1.5” groups at 100yds
Is there any difference between this and the old vanguard meateater. It appears to be the exact same rifle. Is it?
So its just the MeatEater Editition but with a new name and color?
