- Here a little video of my F01 on the Dyno for a light tune, from 318 to 379HP and gained 100NM+ on torque (77 ft-lb) the car feels more light and a bonus is no limiter anymore :) just a mild chip tuning

hey so i got a F01 740 n54 engine how can i tune it i got MHD installed but should i use the MHD N54 or MHD F+G Series im kinda confused cuz its a F SERIES with a N54 engine

The only good looking 7 series after the e38! Would love to get one of these if only the N63 wasn't so problematic
Hence why I bought the N54/55 engine, no issues and almost as much power and less consumption :)
Definitely and a lot of tuning potential with the N54/55. I just meant the v8 is kind of a prerequisite for me. Looking forward to more videos!
Trust me you don't miss it! Had E38 4.4 and moved to the F and it's amazing, drove the 50 too and to be honest the i6 is smoother and "feels" quicker (only 0.2 sec slower then the 50)
I'm sure the i6 is better than the m62 in every aspect - and I would probably come to the same conclusion as you with regards to the F01. I do have a soft spot for the w221 so I don't know which I would go for in the end haha. On another note, thanks for all your content with the e38's, I've been using your tutorials for years!

Am confused as it’s making 380bhp but only 550n/m of torque my 740d is 306bhp standard and 600n/m from factory ?

how is the car holding up? heard alot that f01 is like the a8 a garage queen and i got a bmw e92 335i but idk if the f01 body have more problems? :)

Did you do any mods to the engine before having it tuned ie: charge pipe upgrade ?

Hello, you were such a big e38 fan, I must ask: How do you like the F01? I have an 01 e38 and a 2016 740il..... they are both great yet so different.

My F02 740Li is doing a bad 16.6L/km at the moment, I think that's not normal =/

Kristofer Roussis it went down a little when driving normal. My av consumption before tune was 10L/100km now its 9.6L/100km

it depends on what city you drive in !!! by about 40%. i'm in bucharest, romania, most crowded city in the world by last survey, and my consumption is 21%-22%, sometimes more, and it's normal.
so your mechanic just adjusted the settings on the chip?
Just bought an F02 740Li and have been looking for examples of modded ones, yours is the first I’ve found. Thinking of swapping the turbos out for bigger ones, new intercooler, down pipes, maybe intake... idk. I like the way it rides stock though, I would just want a bit more power. I think it could be the ultimate sleeper. Could think you point me in the right direction?
There is not much out there, the engine routing is off compared to 3 and 5 series, intercooler only adds a few hp not worth it, downpipes and intake as chargepipe will be custom as it won't fit, same goes for the pure turbo's they would need work to fit the 7. I'm happy with the tune, drive on the autobahn quite a bit and it is plenty fast and keeps up with the 750 very well
Homerraas I thought you might be interested in this, but I talked to a guy from dynamic autowerx, and he makes an upgraded turbo set that fits our F01/02... he told me that with the stage 3 set and a tune, we could push over 600+ on pump gas

GEORGIOS Z. No it’s a recap of the DME, what other info do you want? Engine now delivers 385hp
Did you do the remap via OBD?I have also made a remap but my tuner said that, for the time being,it's not available via OBD.So he did it with the DME completely out of the car (Continental MSD 87.2).My car also runs much better than stock but the problem is that there are torque limits that TCU (Transmission Control Unit) sets and we can not overtake it.This leads to a strange behaviour at full throttle.I mean I have noticed that car runs better with 3/4 of gas pedal comparing with 4/4 of gas pedal.There are no warning lights in instrument cluster but I always feel that when releasing my right foot from 4/4 to 3/4,I have better acceleration in 3/4 of the pedal.My tuner said that this is beacause of the TCU torque limits.TCU has to be also remapped but there is no tool available to do this.Did you do a TCU remap as well?Have you noticed the strange behaviour as described above?Thank you for your time...
Time for an other tuner................ I have zero issues and yes mine also could not be tuned via OBD but directly on the DME. Full throttle is no problem at all and the power delivery is smooth at any RPM

Hihi Friend. I just collected a N54 740Li. Sold off my previous N52 730Li. I realize that for the F02, despite it being a N54 (one of the most tuneable blocks), there's not much options available for the 7 Series. I'm glad I stumbled on your video. Any other options available? I just changed my intake and chargepipe. Contemplating to do up the intercooler, turbos and a good tune, if available.

Yes! Absolutely do not use them. My car ran like crap and had engine failsafe with them. Dyno tune is the best way and almost the same price
