I HAVE WORKED WITH THIS TYPE OF WOOD FOR YEARS. I SET MIRRORS INTO SMALL LOGS WITH A DADO BLADE AND CHISEL, BUILT BASKETS, FENCED MY YARD WITH A WILLOW FENCE. THERE IS SO MUCH FUN TO BE HAD BY WORKING WITH THE TWISTS AND CURVES OF THIS MATERIAL ALSO GOING OUT IN THE WOODS AND GATHERING. CHALLENGES THE MIND AND IS SO GRATIFYING WHEN THE PIECE IS DONE. I SOLD MOST OF MY PROJECTS AND I LOVED SEEING YOUR PIECE IN A SETTING THAT ISN'T RUSTIC. I LIKE THE CONTRAST. GREAT WORK. THANKS
Nice work Kevin. You have certainly come a long way from your early Nannup days bronzing chain saw teeth to one half of a VW Alternator pulley disc & bolting it to a 4 inch grinder! Your inventiveness for new products never ceases to amaze me!. You should be teaching kids at Uni etc about real entrepreneurship!. An inspiration indeed. Cheers and Cold Beers!
A great two-part video. I must try this table it really looks awesome. I’m a beginner with the Turbo Planar myself. I’ve been collecting suitable logs for weeks now. Thanks for sharing
Greetings from Kentucky. You are kind and generous to make and share this excellent video. Absolutely genius, most inspiring, and greatly appreciated! I have trees falling all over my farm and am looking forward to making this splendid table.
Beautifully crafted piece of unique furniture. A family heirloom for sure. This was so inspirational and I will try this. Thank you so much for sharing.
I love this table! It's really nice and I'm going to buy a angle grinder and the attachment just to make one of them little tables. I think my mum will love it for her birthday.
Great idea and yet another useful arbortech tool to add to the collection. It looks like the turbo plane removes a lot of material while retaining good control, which makes it well designed. I prefer a burr disc over the original arbortech carving blade for this reason. Smoother carving albeit a bit slower. They're much cheaper too.
The table is unique and good looking in a rustic setting like a mountain cabin. It generates a lot of dust though, both wood and epoxy. Best to do a project like that outside, wearing a dust mask.
Beautiful project! And I love the Arbortech tool by the way. I've already made a dough bowl. Just curious what kind of epoxy you used and where do you get it? Thanks again for such a great project.
Hola. Muy linda mesa. Mi inglés es muy limitado y no pude entender como hizo la mezcla para rellenar los espacios entre los troncos. Agradecería mucho su ayuda.
There's a gap between the finishing the side pieces and epoxy/gluing the rounds onto the top of the table. What do you use there that's strong enough to keep the rounds attached while you use the turbo planer on it?
Hey there! You can buy the disc (TURBO Plane) from our online store, we ship internationally - www.arbortechusa.com/view/woodworking/turboplane/query/product/ind-fg-400
Hi there was just wondering what kind of wood is better for this project and assume the wood is dried up? I love the concept and the look it is amazing.
Bom dia Amigo, ótimo trabalho, adorei a sua idéia, mas também gostei muito da sua máquina, me diga; que tipo de disco você estava usando para gastar a madeira daquele jeito? nunca vi nada parecido....Abraços (Good morning Friend, great job , I loved your idea , but I also enjoyed your machine , tell me ; what kind of disc you were using to spend the wood like that? never seen anything like it .... Hugs)
I always wondered how they make this kind of coffee table.... Can I use another disc other than the turbo plane? I don't think I can get this locally in my country.
Good afternoon. Very good and impressive your work and your skill, however, I would like to know where I can get these disk / planer in Brazil. I would like to buy there?
Finally! I was looking just for this project! It'll definitely be a big help while I continue to work with Woody Hyezmar's plans which I found on his website.
Apparently you never tried the Makita Surface planer. My father once bought it, because he was restoring wooden boats. Then you need something to round of all kinds of things including masts.
hi, i realy admire your work sir, i plan to use this in a floor insted of wood tiles. my question is, is this going to work? pls advce. ty and more power to you sir.
+uni000ver000sal As with most, if not all, homemade things you are econimically way better of spending the time you would have put into the project working overtime at your job and then buying some cheap massproduced thing instead... But I don´t think anyone would tell you that just having the endproduct is the only goal. Woodworking, or creating in general, is fun.

Excellent. Thanks for the inspiration. I’m making the same with my new turbo plane. I’m going to fill the sides with epoxy as well .

Those that have no interest in woodworking are more than welcome to watch videos of paint drying. Stay in the basement, mom will be proud.

Allen J. Gawne Thanks Allen! Try it yourself and let us know how you go if you do make your version.

Very creative piece of functional art and craftsmanship.
That's a really cool table. I think I would have left the outside with the bark and such on it for a more rustic cabin look.
You are an inspiration my friend. Thank you for sharing your creation. very nice job. Thumbs up :)

Hi, can I use part of your video to my compilation of the most interesting woodworking projects ?
The table is unique and good looking in a rustic setting like a mountain cabin. It generates a lot of dust though, both wood and epoxy. Best to do a project like that outside, wearing a dust mask.

Very cool! What kind of epoxy is he using? Does anyone know what stain or sealer he puts on at the end?
I did it myself with the Woodglut plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.
Nice one! Feel free to share with us the end result by sending through some pictures.
Hola. Muy linda mesa. Mi inglés es muy limitado y no pude entender como hizo la mezcla para rellenar los espacios entre los troncos. Agradecería mucho su ayuda.

How did u assemble the trunks together? Nail or glue?
Good job,man!

There's a gap between the finishing the side pieces and epoxy/gluing the rounds onto the top of the table. What do you use there that's strong enough to keep the rounds attached while you use the turbo planer on it?
Love this project, but what is the alternative (besides a power planer) to using this tool? $150 is a bit expensive for someone like me.
Good job 👏👍
AMAZING!! Love it
Классная насадка на ушм! Я бы устал рубанком работать)))
Hello. The idea is super! Tell me where do you buy a disc for grinder (angle grinder)

Yea, it was just as good, I guess I’d just say it’s a “modem take on a stack of firewood.”
Hi there was just wondering what kind of wood is better for this project and assume the wood is dried up?

Finally! I was looking just for this project! It'll definitely be a big help while I continue to work with Woody Hyezmar's plans which I found on his website.
This is a very unique side table and it turned out great! How long did it take to finish the project?
Apparently you never tried the Makita Surface planer. My father once bought it, because he was restoring wooden boats. Then you need something to round of all kinds of things including masts.
