When we went on our 52 day journey from Maine around part of the West we stayed in our trailer at Colter Bay Campground and used it as our base to travel back and forth to Yellowstone as we couldn't/didn't have reservations at Yellowstone. This was around May 20th and it worked out fairly well. It was dark in the campground with all the trees. We actually were able to extend our stay by 1 night in the same spot by meeting with a supervisor at the office and finding out that no was in the site for the extra night (so we didn't have to move). We were very lucky. The Tetons were beautiful and we need to spend more time out there again.

Cat, if you are going toward Driggs, Idaho Falls area, there was a nice city park/rv park in Rigby Idaho. Or if you go back to west Yellowstone, go southwest through island park (beautiful area), you can go into part of grand targhee National forest. There are lots of waterfalls you can drive to, and an old rail road. Sheepshead falls is kind of hard to get to, but that area is beautiful. Also, there was a dam that broke back in the 70s and you can see those remnants. Watch for antelope.

I wonder if many watchers appreciate the techniques you use to translate what the eye sees into what the camera captures? Besides weaving an ongoing story, you're giving an absolute clinic on photographic engineering, which, I suppose, comes almost automatically given your photographic and videographic experience. You mention lighting several times in this segment and there's no way to overstate that. Then the depth- the capture at 11:28 is a great example- fence, mountains. You also seem to have a real feel for textures, such as at 18:20, the logjam. What great translation for what our brains do that the camera doesn't- yet, you drill it down to those emphasis points.
Back to the lighting- even the 1/2 lit shot of the picture in your camper (9:05) is noteworthy. What an interesting contrast to set the morning mood.
It's a gift back to us that you get to spend the time over there. Have you gone past the famous photogenic barn? Classic shot in GTNP. And btw, the backside of the range, the Driggs side, is nearly as beautiful. It's minus the lake, but stunning in its own way.
I just hope everyone appreciates what you're bringing to the eye. . . It's great work and much appreciated.
