I only get 2-5 titles at launch each year (From soft and AA multiplayer/coop if a buddy sells me on it). The dev apology videos are always better when you aren't invested.
Exactly. There is no good reason to get a game when it releases. It isn't going anywhere, I don't need to talk to people online about it when everyone else is playing it too. Just wait a little while and grab it when you see it on sale.
When I found out Ubisoft were doing a Star Wars game and Massive were making it my first thought was "wait a year or two for it to get fixed and pick it up for a tenner". Personally the Division with a Star Wars skin would've worked for me but they were never going to do that.
I’m going to wait for AC Shadows to come out then get Ubisoft+ for 1 month to try both games out. I never go back and replay Ubisoft games anyhow so I don’t care to own it.

@GamingandFrightened I'll be totally honest, I've not played Odyssey, but I'm imagining it similar to Valhalla and Origins? I got bored of both games. They weren't bad, but they didn't grip me enough. I thought Origins looked really good in the trailers, but it felt hollow.
Origins was great and so was Valhalla. But it was so massive, I got burned out before finishing it. The Division 2 was also a lot of fun. People get sucked into the mob mentality of hating on ubisoft. Yeah they have their faults but so do a lot of game makers. People get 30 plus hours out of a game and complain that they didn't get their money's worth
They don't care people will keep buying their games no matter what. I bring up fps issues and screen tearing in all the showings of outlaws and people just dont care

You said it perfectly. All of the new star wars properties feel so safe, so benign, so dull. Remember when we got games like The Force Unleashed where the first episode was literally Darth Vader force pushing dozens of Wookies off a cliff and removing their limbs with his lightsaber? Why can't we get cool stuff like that anymore.
When it comes to a open world 3rd or 1st person action game, particularly one made by ubisoft.. then automatically assume 95% of the comments are rubbish, invalid, needy, hyper-critical, jaded or just plain incorrect. 95% of response here will be as well
Or physical disc copies preowned - I can see this being about a tenth of the launch price in a year's time on physicls preowned disc. That's when I usually get these. Bought Star Wars Squadrons in the UK for about £5 recently (but not played it yet)
You know what's sad? Ubisoft games are getting to a point where even waiting a year and getting the game for $10 isn't worth it. That's how soulless they have become.

Am I the only one that thinks the game looks perfectly fine. Doesn’t look like the second coming of Christ or anything but to say this game looks bad is wild when games like Gollum and King Kong came out this year.

Not that it’s wrong to have the opinion that the game is trash but it’s clear that the agenda being pushed by everyone is that the game is one of the worst of the year so of course everyone’s gonna blindly believe that without even giving the game a fair chance. Now that people are actually playing the game though plenty are saying they enjoy it so it just goes to show you that once again you can’t judge a game by its cover. I’m playing it now and having a good time with it. I’d recommend everyone that’s a Star Wars fan to at least try it and if they don’t want to pay the full 70 buy a Ubisoft plus subscription and play it for only 18 bucks.
@@ToxicTony15 Ubisoft tried to pull the "quadruple A" theory in the beginning of the year when they released that festering pile of ocelot piss with Skull and Bones, and now they released THE WORST (not an opinion, a fact) game of recent memory WHILST trying to milk what little fan base they have left. They do this by influencing content creators and sending little dogs to rationalize their garbage in the comment sections of the same. I do think it's a shame that the major developers don't invest more of their creative potential in creating new and exciting gameplay. Whatever the surface is, the gameplay has been the same for ages now. Shoot or sneak, press one button to kill or press another button to get to cover and then have mindless shootouts. Even though the world and color palette of this game look intriguing - the gameplay itself looks dusty and worn.
@@vincenzooo2k11 yep exactly my frustration with Ubisoft and most big name games. Extremely shallow and old gameplay but people defend it time and time again unfortunately. Similarly, I want to love Ghost Recon Breakpoint. That’s a game that came out with a terrible looter shooter system and 2 years later was completely overworked and could be customised into an almost milsim on console. The only problem being the AI is atrocious and most the open world is insanely bland, and the gunplay is mediocre… Ubisoft always gets about 60% there to making something actually interesting.
The reason is that creating new gameplay/mechanics requires alot more dev time work/testing and risk than just making a 'pretty game' its also faster to doing graphics stuff, its why the worlds look amazing but there is nothing to do in them, they sell on the pretty factor that gets boring in 10 hours and by that point its already too late.
The formula has basically become the de facto formula for games for well over a decade now and with the money invested in these games they can’t afford to get it wrong so it’s just rinse and repeat. It feels like gaming has reached its ceiling - or at least this type of game. I really don’t know how the space evolves from here, especially if they are too scared to take risks.
IGN has the ability to make literally any game look bad with their gameplay. I have no idea who they hire to play these games at IGN but they are always awful.
This looks like an easy game to pass on for me. I feel like I really don't need the Star Wars universe to expand any more than it already has, I really just love classic Star Wars, and some of the new stuff like Jedi fallen order.... But even then I don't have the same appreciation for it as I do for the older stuff. Plus I'm still working my way through Red Dead 2, black myth wukong, and of course astro bot is nearly here.

Nah...I mean, I appreciate the coverage, but these days devs get so crafty with those pre-release demos for press and influencers, making those few hours people get to play a decent enough experience, areas and interactions you can cover within those hours are relatively "safe to be seen", but the moment you get retail version, shit is falling apart pretty quickly. Now this would be my take on majority of AAA devs these days (with few exceptions), but let's not forget that this is Ubisoft, on top of that look at the versions and price spikes on those - that's insane! They wanna lock off day 1 content behind DLC paywall? Well, you ain't gonna see my money. Now, I won't consider myself a Star Wars super fan, I enjoy the badass lightsabers and when they are being competently used by the characters, so I'm not sure who is this for? Like who cares about outlaws in this world (yeah, I know Han Solo)? Remember Rogue One? Yeah, most memorable scene from that movie was a badass fight with Vader in corridor at the end. Here's a shocker, right? Even if the movie was well received. I will welcome the time, when I will be positively surprised by the release of another AAA game, but for the time being the industry made me a skeptical guy, so I observe from the distance, while I enjoy playing older games I have in a queue.
@Antares-Dragon yeah I'm excited for the visuals. I have a 3080 so usually play in 4k at 60fps. I generally like the ubisoft formula so I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it.

Some people commenting based of the tittle but this preview was pretty positive. To me all the lastest Ubi games, from AC origins- Mirage and Avatar have been solids 7-8/10s and I’ve loved my time in all of them. This doesn’t seem to be different, especially since i love SW. i just hope its not another Acolyte lore mess
its mainly because ubisoft rarely ever strays from their one way to make a game. But if that doesn't get old for you or you're someone who just hasn't played much of their stuff. I can imagine this might be at least worth a playthrough.

I do hope this game leans more towards the open world AC formula instead of Far Cry(which is already looking this way) cuz FC truly is a franchise that has been the same since FC3 and is quite frankly BORING. Avatar did lean more into the FC formula but its setting, map design, audio design, movement and the visuals really set it apart just enough for me to enjoy it.
I am looking forward to a solid Star Wars game experience. Space combat, shooting, blowing stuff up in a star wars setting is a good time for me. I don't need the game to reinvent the wheel or push boundaries. Not every game can be that. It looks well made.
I hate the way when droids die it’s just a model swap into like 4 pieces of random parts that just drop to the floor, completely unaffected by surrounding physics forces
Sometimes I buy a game and for certain reasons I am not into playing at the time. Armored Core 6 for example. Played it almost a year after I bought it, when I found the time and motivation to commit to getting good at it. Same with Elden Ring, bought it at launch only to start playing it a couple months ago. Now I can't put it down. I could've bought these later and saved the money, but I never regretted buying them. The 2 games I bought and regretted buying were Far Cry 6 and Avatar. I couldn't play more than a few hours, I've tried a few times. Outlaws being another Ubisoft open world and at the price they're charging, it would take many overwhelmingly positive reviews for me to consider buying the game.
Yep. Those games have depth and challenge to them that feel like you’re progressing even just skill wise. You can master and see everything in a modern Ubisoft game within the first 2 hours
Imagine a red dead star wars game play a jedi sith or bounty hunter 3 separate story lines that cross paths. Which company wants to make an ez billion its right here.
That's not where the money is. You make a crappy game (deliberately) make it better each year incrementally (a step in the right direction type review) and charge full price as if it's a brand new game. A £60 free to play dlc.
I'm not gonna hate on the game just because it's Ubisoft's (like most poeple have been doing). It actually looks a fun game to me. It seems like a 'wait for a sale' though.

Great hands on preview! Love how you were not trolling it or being a fanboy towards it...straight up gameplay, the macanhics and overall impressions. Ubi-Soft could and should see and learn from you hands-on ...hands down.
My buddy and I were really hoping for something more like The Division with co-op, but I think this looks pretty good, too. I'll be ignoring all the controversy around the current path Star Wars has been taking lately because I think it might be fun, and I need a good single player game.
Allegedly they won't have an mtx store, which did surprise me quite a bit as basically every Ubisoft game has one these days. Maybe they were allowed to leave it out because Ubi has AC shadows in winter and that will have a massive mtx store as always.
Think my "Ubisoft Rule" of wait 1-3 months and get at first decent sale (and bug fixes) to half off might apply again here. Assuming that sale will be by time AC Shadows comes out.
Unlike the vast amount of comments complaining about graphics on that IGN gameplay reveal, I was a lot more worried about the dialogue, specifically the MC who is consantly going "um" and switching between unsure and reckless the entire time. If I'm going to play this game I will be waiting for the mod that removes every "uh" and "um" like I did with Final Fantasy 7, in order to make it bearable.

I really don't know what the purpose of the strange little poodle lizard is. It could've just been tech. It's like every Star Wars character has to have a 'cute' companion now for merchandising reasons. The world looks pretty cool though.

I just think the gunfights look really boring. I'm not a fan of using guns in games. I LOVE the Jedi games, but the combat is so good in those! It also helps that the characters, story, and world design is fantastic. But just standing and shooting, running and shooting, or hiding behind cover and shooting... it just looks really boring. The vehicles look fun though, so I'm kind of hoping they'll add vehicles to the next Jedi game. 😅 (Instead of just a set-piece, which was a great moment, but I would love to have some podracing or speeder bikes)
Glad I pre-ordered this, cant wait. And hate ubi all you want, they have some stinkers sure (That pirate game) but most recent big releases continue to get massive sales. Only the internet dunks hard on Ubi. Keep the salt mines flowing!

Understandable, the older you get the less time you have left, and that time is divided between your hopefully robust social network, responsibilities, and hobbies. Baldurs Gate 3 blew my mind; I hadn't played a turn based game since the late 90s, and that game is beautifully done. I like open world games for the art and aesthetics, and I appreciate a puzzle component tossed into 'work' style side quests, but I often find myself wanting to build my car, read a book, hike somewhere beautiful, or play my guitar more. Boredom is a kind of hunger that I've found has grown considerably as I've aged, and the menial task aspect of some of these games no longer draws me, no matter how beautiful the environment is.
i bet it's going to be one of those games with a incredibly hard to follow story, and a bunch of characters who you immediately not care about all wrapped up in some complex plots you also immediately stop caring about and even following.

It's bizarre to me that this is a story driven game with a specific character and not a blank slate protagonist that players could fully customize. Depending on the world and the gameplay loop, a game called Outlaws set within Star Wars seems like it would provide players with the creation of...well, their own outlaw, and allow them to pursue whatever criminal activities they wanted, along the lines of Hogwarts Legacy. It would definitely increase my own replayability that's for sure. But that's clearly not the direction Ubi went with this. I mean, just imagine something similar-ish to the Division, with missions like assassinations, bounties, smuggling, merc/muscle for crime lords, etc. with the goal of building your own criminal empire. I don't think that would be just a reskin of the Division. It adds much needed customizability so players would have a reason to come back again and again. I hate to say it, but it could even lend itself better to a live service model, which is what publishers have been pushing for in the last few years anyway. Helldivers shows that if you do it right, people will show up (yes, I know the player counts have been dropping, but I suspect the next update will probably cause some folks, myself included, to return). You could do it in single player, but co-op would be a necessary addition. Building a crime syndicate with your friends could be an absolute blast. Seems like the wait for a solid underworld crime game in Star Wars continues!

I couldn't care less about the story because there's not freedom to create and explore my own characters' stories in the Star Wars universe. Sure some of that might be because of the state of Star Wars right now, but I think it's more a reflection of the bankrupt creatives churning out new drivel as you indicated.
I prefer games with a pre-defined character. Hogwarts legacy is a perfect example of why, hogwarts legacy main character is ridiculously bland. I'd take RDR2 or TW3 over that any day of the week.

They literally just had to copy + paste wildlands/breakpoint’s character customization. Just two voice actors and let people choose what they look like. I think the game will be FAR from perfect, but that would’ve been such an easy way to get some fans to buy it.
As someone who likes Star Wars and the Ubisoft game formula I am really excited for this one. It might not be for everyone but this game will definitely have its audience

you know as an ubisoft fan im fully willing to admit that they make like 3 or 4 games but slap different names on it each time. the thing is though i LOVE those 3 or 4 games and theyre dlcs are usually, well to say large can be a bit of an understatement. im almost definitley getting this game and i am glad the youtube reviewers are starting to be a bit more fair to the game rather than the absolute cesspool of screaming that we got before they even released the gameplay trailer(that same cesspool can still typically be found in comments sections)

@@Antares-Dragon I wasn't kidding when I said 21st time, I've played it nearly every year since it released, and a few hundred hours of multiplayer, one of my favourite games ever, and I'm not bothered in the slightest by any of its older systems. I've spent a lot of time modding it as well so things that might trip someone up that hasn't played it in a long time are just normal to me. Still in love with a lot of older games and return to them regularly, but I'm old as shit and I'm sure all the cool kids would ridicule me off the internet as well if I let them, but like the old games, I'm not done for just yet. Each to their own, have fun with whatever floats your boat.

Seems like a rough build, and a lot of the verbal interactions were limited. Considering much of this game will be social interactions I think there is still a lot of room for this game to improve. Still looking forward to this game. Thanks for the grounded preview.

I know it's cool to crap on this game, but I've been waiting for a proper open world space opera scifi type of game my whole life. I just wish it was a brand new IP and not Star Wars. It's reminding me of Jak and Daxter 2 and 3 which are some of my best games ever. I hope Naughty Dog's new game ends up being a better more polished version of this. Anyways I'll give Outlaws a chance
This is going to ruffle some feathers.. but I can't get behind a 5'2" 106lb woman as an action character where she drops 4 Storm Troopers with 3 punches and 1 kick. If it was Han Solo & Chewbacca or a Brock Lesnar looking type then I could suspend disbelief. Female characters like the lead in Control are fine when they have super powers in a science fiction setting. If you like females characters, then good for you. I just wish then had put Han Solo as the lead instead.
To me, this is assassin’s Creed in space. If it didn’t have the Star Wars name attached to it, would you even know it was Star Wars? From the footage that I have seen in several videos, including this one, the answer is no.

13:28 this game looks cool if not purely from an immersion standpoint. We don't really have any open world Star Wars games on the market with this level of immersion and detail. From everybody's impressions so far it sounds like they nailed the immersion and Star Wars feel of their environments, making just walking through them and exploring entertaining in and of itself. I don't understand when people have said this looks "terrible". I can't wait to explore the world (though admittedly I am going to wait several months for it to surely be patched, lol)

The best part is that you get to create your own character, as every star wars fan likely wanted when thinking of the first open world star wars game. It's a good thing Ubisoft got this small and minor mechanic right!

Not that it’s wrong to have the opinion that the game is trash but it’s clear that the agenda being pushed by everyone is that the game is one of the worst of the year so of course everyone’s gonna blindly believe that without even giving the game a fair chance. Now that people are actually playing the game though plenty are saying they enjoy it so it just goes to show you that once again you can’t judge a game by its cover. I’m playing it now and having a good time with it. I’d recommend everyone that’s a Star Wars fan to at least try it and if they don’t want to pay the full 70 buy a Ubisoft plus subscription and play it for only 18 bucks.

I do think it's a shame that the major developers don't invest more of their creative potential in creating new and exciting gameplay. Whatever the surface is, the gameplay has been the same for ages now. Shoot or sneak, press one button to kill or press another button to get to cover and then have mindless shootouts. Even though the world and color palette of this game look intriguing - the gameplay itself looks dusty and worn.
@@vincenzooo2k11 yep exactly my frustration with Ubisoft and most big name games. Extremely shallow and old gameplay but people defend it time and time again unfortunately. Similarly, I want to love Ghost Recon Breakpoint. That’s a game that came out with a terrible looter shooter system and 2 years later was completely overworked and could be customised into an almost milsim on console. The only problem being the AI is atrocious and most the open world is insanely bland, and the gunplay is mediocre… Ubisoft always gets about 60% there to making something actually interesting.
The reason is that creating new gameplay/mechanics requires alot more dev time work/testing and risk than just making a 'pretty game' its also faster to doing graphics stuff, its why the worlds look amazing but there is nothing to do in them, they sell on the pretty factor that gets boring in 10 hours and by that point its already too late.

The formula has basically become the de facto formula for games for well over a decade now and with the money invested in these games they can’t afford to get it wrong so it’s just rinse and repeat. It feels like gaming has reached its ceiling - or at least this type of game. I really don’t know how the space evolves from here, especially if they are too scared to take risks.

This looks like an easy game to pass on for me. I feel like I really don't need the Star Wars universe to expand any more than it already has, I really just love classic Star Wars, and some of the new stuff like Jedi fallen order.... But even then I don't have the same appreciation for it as I do for the older stuff.
Plus I'm still working my way through Red Dead 2, black myth wukong, and of course astro bot is nearly here.

Nah...I mean, I appreciate the coverage, but these days devs get so crafty with those pre-release demos for press and influencers, making those few hours people get to play a decent enough experience, areas and interactions you can cover within those hours are relatively "safe to be seen", but the moment you get retail version, shit is falling apart pretty quickly. Now this would be my take on majority of AAA devs these days (with few exceptions), but let's not forget that this is Ubisoft, on top of that look at the versions and price spikes on those - that's insane! They wanna lock off day 1 content behind DLC paywall? Well, you ain't gonna see my money.
Now, I won't consider myself a Star Wars super fan, I enjoy the badass lightsabers and when they are being competently used by the characters, so I'm not sure who is this for? Like who cares about outlaws in this world (yeah, I know Han Solo)? Remember Rogue One? Yeah, most memorable scene from that movie was a badass fight with Vader in corridor at the end. Here's a shocker, right? Even if the movie was well received.
I will welcome the time, when I will be positively surprised by the release of another AAA game, but for the time being the industry made me a skeptical guy, so I observe from the distance, while I enjoy playing older games I have in a queue.

Some people commenting based of the tittle but this preview was pretty positive. To me all the lastest Ubi games, from AC origins- Mirage and Avatar have been solids 7-8/10s and I’ve loved my time in all of them. This doesn’t seem to be different, especially since i love SW. i just hope its not another Acolyte lore mess

I do hope this game leans more towards the open world AC formula instead of Far Cry(which is already looking this way) cuz FC truly is a franchise that has been the same since FC3 and is quite frankly BORING.
Avatar did lean more into the FC formula but its setting, map design, audio design, movement and the visuals really set it apart just enough for me to enjoy it.
I am looking forward to a solid Star Wars game experience. Space combat, shooting, blowing stuff up in a star wars setting is a good time for me. I don't need the game to reinvent the wheel or push boundaries. Not every game can be that. It looks well made.

Sometimes I buy a game and for certain reasons I am not into playing at the time. Armored Core 6 for example. Played it almost a year after I bought it, when I found the time and motivation to commit to getting good at it. Same with Elden Ring, bought it at launch only to start playing it a couple months ago. Now I can't put it down. I could've bought these later and saved the money, but I never regretted buying them. The 2 games I bought and regretted buying were Far Cry 6 and Avatar. I couldn't play more than a few hours, I've tried a few times. Outlaws being another Ubisoft open world and at the price they're charging, it would take many overwhelmingly positive reviews for me to consider buying the game.

My buddy and I were really hoping for something more like The Division with co-op, but I think this looks pretty good, too. I'll be ignoring all the controversy around the current path Star Wars has been taking lately because I think it might be fun, and I need a good single player game.
The game is also more based on classical Star Wars (first trilogy), so I'm pretty confident the world building will at least be on point.
This is exactly what I expected: a mish-mash of other gameplay mechanics in a star wars setting. I'm sure they will have a mtx store in this day 1.
Allegedly they won't have an mtx store, which did surprise me quite a bit as basically every Ubisoft game has one these days. Maybe they were allowed to leave it out because Ubi has AC shadows in winter and that will have a massive mtx store as always.
Think my "Ubisoft Rule" of wait 1-3 months and get at first decent sale (and bug fixes) to half off might apply again here. Assuming that sale will be by time AC Shadows comes out.

Because it is 2024 and the game looks and feels (terribad AI) like it was made in 2014.
Unlike the vast amount of comments complaining about graphics on that IGN gameplay reveal, I was a lot more worried about the dialogue, specifically the MC who is consantly going "um" and switching between unsure and reckless the entire time.
If I'm going to play this game I will be waiting for the mod that removes every "uh" and "um" like I did with Final Fantasy 7, in order to make it bearable.

Cheers for the coverage. I was never going to get this because it's Ubisoft but I was considering a month on Connect if it turned out to be good. I wasn't expecting it to be anything more than a Ubi game with a SW skin and I'll still wait for your review before deciding whether Connect is worth it. Also, I didn't get notified of this at all, even now as I watch there's still nothing and all settings are on. Just thought you might want to know (again).
I really don't know what the purpose of the strange little poodle lizard is. It could've just been tech. It's like every Star Wars character has to have a 'cute' companion now for merchandising reasons.

I just think the gunfights look really boring. I'm not a fan of using guns in games. I LOVE the Jedi games, but the combat is so good in those! It also helps that the characters, story, and world design is fantastic. But just standing and shooting, running and shooting, or hiding behind cover and shooting... it just looks really boring. The vehicles look fun though, so I'm kind of hoping they'll add vehicles to the next Jedi game. 😅 (Instead of just a set-piece, which was a great moment, but I would love to have some podracing or speeder bikes)

It's not for me. The older I get, the more these type of games (with jobs, sidequests, grinding etc.) feel like work to me. Hard pass for me.
Understandable, the older you get the less time you have left, and that time is divided between your hopefully robust social network, responsibilities, and hobbies. Baldurs Gate 3 blew my mind; I hadn't played a turn based game since the late 90s, and that game is beautifully done. I like open world games for the art and aesthetics, and I appreciate a puzzle component tossed into 'work' style side quests, but I often find myself wanting to build my car, read a book, hike somewhere beautiful, or play my guitar more. Boredom is a kind of hunger that I've found has grown considerably as I've aged, and the menial task aspect of some of these games no longer draws me, no matter how beautiful the environment is.

AGC giveing the facts not just bashing on a game. I love this type of review instead of just everyone is bashing so will also. Unless the game is terrible it would still be fun to play for fun. But I do not think anything special for 70-120. think i will wait for a sale price
It's bizarre to me that this is a story driven game with a specific character and not a blank slate protagonist that players could fully customize. Depending on the world and the gameplay loop, a game called Outlaws set within Star Wars seems like it would provide players with the creation of...well, their own outlaw, and allow them to pursue whatever criminal activities they wanted, along the lines of Hogwarts Legacy. It would definitely increase my own replayability that's for sure. But that's clearly not the direction Ubi went with this.
I mean, just imagine something similar-ish to the Division, with missions like assassinations, bounties, smuggling, merc/muscle for crime lords, etc. with the goal of building your own criminal empire. I don't think that would be just a reskin of the Division. It adds much needed customizability so players would have a reason to come back again and again. I hate to say it, but it could even lend itself better to a live service model, which is what publishers have been pushing for in the last few years anyway. Helldivers shows that if you do it right, people will show up (yes, I know the player counts have been dropping, but I suspect the next update will probably cause some folks, myself included, to return). You could do it in single player, but co-op would be a necessary addition. Building a crime syndicate with your friends could be an absolute blast. Seems like the wait for a solid underworld crime game in Star Wars continues!
What you are suggesting is that they use creativity and logic to make a better game. That is not a common thing for them!

I couldn't care less about the story because there's not freedom to create and explore my own characters' stories in the Star Wars universe. Sure some of that might be because of the state of Star Wars right now, but I think it's more a reflection of the bankrupt creatives churning out new drivel as you indicated.
I prefer games with a pre-defined character. Hogwarts legacy is a perfect example of why, hogwarts legacy main character is ridiculously bland.
I'd take RDR2 or TW3 over that any day of the week.

They literally just had to copy + paste wildlands/breakpoint’s character customization. Just two voice actors and let people choose what they look like. I think the game will be FAR from perfect, but that would’ve been such an easy way to get some fans to buy it.

you know as an ubisoft fan im fully willing to admit that they make like 3 or 4 games but slap different names on it each time. the thing is though i LOVE those 3 or 4 games and theyre dlcs are usually, well to say large can be a bit of an understatement. im almost definitley getting this game and i am glad the youtube reviewers are starting to be a bit more fair to the game rather than the absolute cesspool of screaming that we got before they even released the gameplay trailer(that same cesspool can still typically be found in comments sections)

@@Antares-Dragon I wasn't kidding when I said 21st time, I've played it nearly every year since it released, and a few hundred hours of multiplayer, one of my favourite games ever, and I'm not bothered in the slightest by any of its older systems. I've spent a lot of time modding it as well so things that might trip someone up that hasn't played it in a long time are just normal to me.
Still in love with a lot of older games and return to them regularly, but I'm old as shit and I'm sure all the cool kids would ridicule me off the internet as well if I let them, but like the old games, I'm not done for just yet.

I've seen several of these "I've played it" reviews. I'll buy this, but no reason for a $100 "early access" pack.
This is going to ruffle some feathers.. but I can't get behind a 5'2" 106lb woman as an action character where she drops 4 Storm Troopers with 3 punches and 1 kick. If it was Han Solo & Chewbacca or a Brock Lesnar looking type then I could suspend disbelief. Female characters like the lead in Control are fine when they have super powers in a science fiction setting. If you like females characters, then good for you. I just wish then had put Han Solo as the lead instead.

To me, this is assassin’s Creed in space. If it didn’t have the Star Wars name attached to it, would you even know it was Star Wars? From the footage that I have seen in several videos, including this one, the answer is no.

@@longjohn526 except that many games on steam are DRM free, so you can use them without steam.
@@mr.p215 Steam still needs to launch for them to run so not sure what you mean by "without steam." If you just mean you can play them offline Ubisoft Connect can also be used offline

13:28 this game looks cool if not purely from an immersion standpoint. We don't really have any open world Star Wars games on the market with this level of immersion and detail. From everybody's impressions so far it sounds like they nailed the immersion and Star Wars feel of their environments, making just walking through them and exploring entertaining in and of itself. I don't understand when people have said this looks "terrible". I can't wait to explore the world (though admittedly I am going to wait several months for it to surely be patched, lol)
The preview looks solid to me. I like what I saw. Will prob be grabbing this one at release. The game looks fun and the locations seem interesting.
It's unfortunate that Ubisoft will still make hand over fist money due to the Starwars fans. They don't deserve it. At least we have individuals like you who are a beacon of truth for reviews!
Soulless looking game.
The best part is that you get to create your own character, as every star wars fan likely wanted when thinking of the first open world star wars game. It's a good thing Ubisoft got this small and minor mechanic right!
its a $70-100 game and the developers have told us that it is quadruple A, not triple A, so it should be a masterpiece when it is released...
I like how they use the Star Wars symbols for letters, and they fade into our alphabet. Nice touch.
